She had it all. What happens when you lose everything your friends become your enemies, you lose your crush, your reputation at school. Do you fall forever? Or is there hope? Is there someone who can make you believe in yourself again?

Chapter 1

It was a normal day in the life of Mel, getting ready for school was a chore. Getting up at 6 in the morning, the Cleopatra shower, curling or straightening her hair depending on her mood, deciding what kind of make up she wanted to wear that day, a dramatic look to shock the boys? Or a demure look that would still turn heads?

The next thing that took up most of her time was probably selecting clothes, to wear something cute and short, or something simple that would still make her stand out in the crowd. It was her last year in Kingston High and she wanted to leave on a good note. She wasn't a brainless blond bimbo, she was a beauty with brains. She had goals and she was determined to pursue them.

It was the first day of high school and she had just parked her car and just as she was about to get out of her car, 'BOOOOM' she heard a noise, it came from behind her. She got of the car to see what happened, A black colored Toyota Altis had crashed into her Beautiful Red Beatle. She moved over to the door of the Altis and pulled it, out of the car came a gorgeous boy, fair handsome and everything, she was mad out of her wits but just as she saw him she forgot everything she had to say and started fumbling with her words. "I'm really sorry miss", he said. "I didn't see your car me and my friend were so busy listening to Electro trance live on the radio I..I.." he started fumbling too. His friend got out from the right hand side of the car. He didn't say much, he was cute too. He smiled and introduced himself. "I'm Van", he said. '' And that's my clumsy friend Nial" he had the most sexiest voice ever that made her melt. " Mmm I'm Mel", she said. Trying hard not to blush. Before she had turned from talking to Van, she noticed Nial had vanished. "Oh he just can't get enough of girls" Van said.

She instantly found herself drawn to Nial, even though he was the typical bad boy player kinds. When she and Van went to the cafetaria to grab a bite, she saw a bunch of dumb girls swooning over Nial. '' I told you" Van said with a smirk. " He thinks he's too smart of himself eh?'', Mel said. " Haha good ole Nial trying the same moves on girls in Kingston as he did in Willimption High. You deserve better, Not him",he said and smiled. He seemed so sweet, but something about Nial didn't let her focus on anything and anyone. "Oh damn its 9 and we have sociology, we better get to class.  Miss Sasha doesn't like late comers" Mel said. Her eyes searched Nial who stared back at her giving her a smirk and a wink and pulled one those dumb girls towards him.

She didn't know why but she wanted to break down and cry, or probably slap the bastard, usually all the guys gave her attention and this guy whom she kinda had a crush on was trying to make her jealous. Van saw something wrong and dragged her to class. The day was alright, none of her girlfriends had come to school so she sat with Van through out the day, her eyes searching the classroom for Nial, if he had secretly come for either of the classes. Van was instantly drawn to her, although she looked all tough and beautiful and full of attitude on the outside on the inside she was a lot different she had that cute little girl innocence and charm to her that he had instantly fallen for, but since she kept talking about Nial, he let it be and didn't say much.

Instead of letting Nial giving him a ride to school, he decided to walk Mel home, anyway both the cars were at the mechanics and it would be a week or so until they got fixed. " My dad's gonna grill be so bad, I'm gonna be shish kebab" Mel told Van. She frowned everytime she was worried and her eyebrows went up. He kept staring at her. "You shouldn't worry too much." he said. "You're really pretty when you smile, plus if you keep frowning that much, you're gonna get wrinkles soon and you don't want that on your pretty face,eh?" That made her blush.

As they were walking across the street, it started to pour cats and dogs. "Let's go to Starbucks it's just across the street!" Van told her and she agreed. The next minute they found themselves seated there sipping on latte's and having those silly friend conversations. "So you're new here?" She asked him. "Umm yeah" he giggled. It sounded so cute, He had this habit of looking down at his shoes and biting his lip. he did it a lot. " Actually my parents and my sister live in Australia and I'm studying here. Nial's dad and my dad are friends so I'm currently living at his place until you know, I can find a decent job to support myself and rent out a decent appartment, the day that happens you're the first one I'm gonna treat". They raised a toast of coffee to that!

Her eyes saw Nial at the coffee counter flirting with the lady at the counter, "Doesn't he spare anyone who sits peeing down?" she said to Van and rolled her eyes. He giggled, he found everything about her cute, the way she walked, the way she ranted about her problems, got hyper and even the way she rolled her eyes. He walked her home and went to Nial's place and waited for him to come home.

 Chapter 2

Van's POV

Woah! Mel's the girl of my dreams. She's everything I wanted in a girl. Beautiful, caring, sweet, so child like, she even asked about my family. I don't know how a girl like her can like a prick like Nial, I mean seriously. She can get whoever she wants and she likes him.

All he's gonna do is hurt her. He's never been serious about anything in his life, I've known him since he was a kid and he thinks of girls as toys. I wish she'd see through his good looks into the kind of guy he really is.

She'd never like him then, he thought.

And he was right. She deserved better. Not Nial but Van actually. He was cute, he took care of her, he cared about his family and respected his dad, he cared about her and didn't want to get hurt. He didn't get drunk and bed a new girl every night like Nial did. He had mature goals and he wanted to be successful in life. He was the perfect boyfriend kinda guy, the perfect gentleman every girl wanted and desired.
