"Is it too early for you?" Yuri asked as she watched you yawn once more.
"No." You said before stretching your legs out the best that you could in the car.
You looked at the time on the radio and saw that it was just a little after five am.
Yuri is the only person that getting up so early seemed worthy for.
You usually don't like to get out of bed until eight am or later, when you get the chance to sleep in.
Today is one of those days you would've slept in since you didn't have anything to do or anywhere to be.
But when Yuri called and asked if she could surprise you with something romantic, despite the time, you agreed.
"Where are we going?"
"I told you, baby. It's a surprise." She said as she sent you another bright smile and the sight brought butterflies back to your chest.
You've only been on one date so far.
You've been friends for a couple of months but just recently, you confessed your feelings for each other and made it official as a couple.
So this is your second date and it made you even more excited knowing that it was going to be a surprise, whatever it is.
"We'll be there in just a few minutes. Just relax and take in the sights." She said as she drove down a few different roads to get where you were going.
After a few minutes, she pulled into an empty parking spot and pulled the keys out of the ignition, causing the car to turn off and the lights to turn on.
You got out of the car with her and saw that the sun was just beginning to rise.
"Come on, darling," she said as she took your hand after grabbing something from the backseat.
The car chirped as she locked it before you started to walk together.
"What's going on? What are you up to?" You wondered and watched as she put her down as a happy giggle fell from her lips.
"Hold on, my love. You'll see."
You saw the sand and heard the waves crashing on the shore and you realized that she had brought you to the beach.
You walked with her close to the water before she suddenly stopped and let your hand go to unroll the blanket in her hand.
She laid it on the sand before turning to look at you with bright eyes.
"Sit down, sweet girl,"
You sat on the blanket and she did the same after, her hand falling to the small of your back.
"Look at the sky."
You looked at the sky that just a few minutes ago was dark but now was a few beautiful colors as the sun started to rise.
"This is why you brought me here?" You asked.
The thought of Yuri waking you up early just to bring you to the beach to watch the sunrise with you was one of the most romantic things you've ever experienced.
"Yeah. I wanted to watch the sunrise with you." She smiled as she brushed a strand of hair behind your ear.
"Thank you. I love it." You said and watched a pretty grin pull at her lips. "It's so romantic and sweet."
You looked at the sky, taking in the beautiful yellow, orange, and red colors as the sun started to come up.
It's a beautiful sight.
One you haven't appreciated before and felt so happy to be able to do now with Yuri by your side.
"I thought about it last night. I thought about the sunset but I wanted to do this instead. It just seemed so..."
"Perfect?" You finished for her and she nodded, a happy look in her eyes as she did so.
"And I also thought about how we haven't had our first kiss yet and it would be so romantic to do it under the sunrise. If you want that, of course."
Your heart jumped just thinking about it.
"I want that. I want you to kiss me."
Yuri's heart started to skip with excitement and she leaned in, gazing into your eyes as she got closer and closer.
She wanted to make sure she didn't see even a hint of nervousness.
She wanted to make sure you were sure.
And when she saw you close your eyes in anticipation, she didn't hesitate any longer and put her lips on yours.
It felt crazy but in the most amazing way.
She felt a rush of excitement - something she hasn't felt in a while.
She felt sparks flying everywhere around the two of you.
She felt your soft fingers brush against her cheek as you cupped it in your palm and your warm, soft lips felt so perfect against hers.
It's everything she'd dreamt of when she imagined the first kiss you'd share together.
And when you pulled away a second later to get air into your lungs, she was grinning from ear to ear.
"That was incredible." She said.
"It was." You smiled. "Best kiss ever."
She chuckled as she put her forehead on yours.
"Kiss me again?" You wondered with eyes as pretty and soft as the sunrise you were watching together.
It left her mesmerized and weak in the knees.
"Happily, darling," She smiled before putting her lips back on yours, where she felt as though they were meant to be.
