With final exams over with Bryanne and her friend Alora rushed to their bus, greeting the bus driver, and sitting down. Excitedly, they started talking about their plans, "Oahu, here we come," they both squealed, dreaming of warm sandy beaches while playing in the water and cozying up to a book as the sun goes down.
"So, what books are you bringing?" Alora asked as she rummaged through her stuff.
"I'm thinking of bringing, Guild of the Abyss, what about you?" Bryanne asked.
"Oh, I'm going with Banished Depths, Timekeeper's Treasure, and Truth in Starlight," Alora replied proudly.
"Oh my gosh, do you mind letting me borrow a book or two?" Bryanne asked, sharing Alora's excitement.
"Sure, I've got books to spare, just don't spoil," Alora replied, giving Bryanne a playfully serious look.
"Alright," Bryanne replied before they both burst out laughing. Just then, Bryanne realized they were at her stop as the bus drew to a halt. "Guess I'll see ya tomorrow," Bryanne said as she hoisted her bag onto her back.
"Alright, I'll text ya when I get home," Alora replied.
"'Righty," Bryanne replied before exiting the bus.
The bus driver waited making sure Bryanne crossed the street before it drove off with the engine getting quieter the further it got. With a sigh Bryanne continued walking before making it to her door, stopping for a second as she looked at the garden in front of the house, admiring the new flowers her mom planted.
Grabbing the key from her bag she unlocked the door and opened it. Kicking off her shoes she opened the second door and rushed upstairs to her bedroom to put her backpack away. After that she grabbed her 3DS off the charger and went downstairs to play Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky feeling excited seeing Blaze, the vulpix, and her partner Luka, the Riolu. All the while her cat, Heather, stared out the window on a cat tree, her focus drawn to a bird that had made a nest in the tree, in the front yard.
Bryanne's attention was drawn to the cat for a split second before focusing on her screen as she was focusing on the battle with Dialga as she commanded Blaze to use flamethrower with Luka following up with force palm. Dialga finally getting its turn shot Roar of Time leaving both Blaze and Luka with barely any hp left.
"Oh, no you don't," Bryanne growled under her breath. She utilized the combo once more while Dialga was recharging. This went on with Luka fainting once and Blaze fainting at least twice which surprised Bryanne since it usually took more to knock out the Temporal pokemon.
After Bryanne's parents got home they all got to making dinner with Bryanne filling up Heather's bowl, in which she scampered over to eat her fill. After a filling dinner Bryanne and her parents watched a movie as the day closed with summer just beyond the horizon. Bryanne continued to chat with Alora as she went upstairs after the movie was over and got her pjs on.
Getting comfy in bed Bryanne continued texting Alora.
"Wow, come to think of it we'll be in highschool next year"
"Really ha, I didn't even notice"
"I mean at least we get to read on a beach with an entire volcano behind us"
"Huh, yeah I guess but I just get the feeling that, idk like something bads going to happen y'know"
"Idk either, you always say things like that and I think of the pandemic"
"Holy smokes, don't remind me have you seen the kids this year"
"Like someone decided to let loose a pack of wolves in classrooms"
"With a whole lot more personality and a lot more teeth"
"My mom is yelling at me to go to sleep, Ig see ya tomorrow"
"See ya!!"
Bryanne rubbed her eyes as she turned off her phone which said it was 11:23 p.m. "Guess I'll get some sleep." She murmured to herself before rolling herself into a cocoon of blankets and pillows trying to get comfortable.
Dimensions away in a land untouched by human influence a raging clash of fire and lightning struck down on the now deserted Sky Ruins. Leaving dark scarring on the already dilapidated building. The high screaming roar of Reshiram pierced through the dark amalgamation of clouds before setting off a Blue Flare. Creating a blast of blue flames that raked across the tail of the deep black Pokémon, Zeckrom. With it countering with a Fusion Bolt where Reshiram answered in kind with its Fusion Flare. Leaving both Pokémon at their limits.
As a last use of its energy Zeckrom charged up for a last Bolt Strike bringing the vast white Pokémon to share in its demise. Both unable to stand, collapse due to their injuries and glare at each other as their forms are reduced to a Dark Stone and a Light Stone.
After witnessing the final clash of the two beasts of truth and ideals, other Pokémon could only watch back in horror as the dark storm of chaos slowly consumed the minds of Pokémon. Making sure to retain peace everyone retreated to the farthest ends of the planet keeping a clear distance away until it settled, leaving behind a devastated landscape of ever changing terrains, called dungeons. With Pokémon, legendary or not, being taken over by an unknown force, forcing the Alpha Pokémon, Arceus, to take action.
"As regretful as it is, I beg of thee please hear my plea," Arceus cried out against the dark sky. "I beg anyone, please save us from this madness," Arceus repeated as its mentality was stripped from it leaving behind a twisted shell of an all powerful god.
A thunderous voice echoed breaking through Bryanne's dream as she was sucked into the woeful pleas and cries of one voice. Opening her eyes the voice changed from sounding like roars followed by gleaming undertones to human speech, although it was bugged out the message was clear. "I beg anyone, save us from this madness," before a loud high-pitched blaring sound rang in her ears to an almost deafening degree.
As the noise ebbed away, Bryanne let exhaustion take her again, putting her back into her personal cocoon of sleep. She was only woken up as someone ruffly rocked her shoulders in an effort to wake her up. The voice sounded echoey until she focused in on it, "Cyndaquil, come on wake up." The voice held a youthful tone much like a breath of wind.
Hearing the name "Cyndaquil" a rush of alarm spread through her body making her back feel warm all of a sudden, causing the offender to jump back in surprise and alarm. Bryanne quickly inspected her body to find she really had been turned into a Cyndaquil. "I'm dreaming, I have to be dreaming," she said to herself quietly before continuing, "this isn't real, this isn't real."
All before a stranger walks up to her avoiding Bryanne's flame covered back, " you ok there?" The stranger questioned as Bryanne's flame started to grow dimmer.
Looking up, Bryanne noticed a Treecko holding out its hand, taking the Treecko's hand she looked around then back at the Treecko. Once on her feet, Bryanne gave a reply to the Treecko, "thanks, I...um," Bryanne started before composing herself, "to be honest, I think I need some help."
The Treecko looks her up and down before replying, "Well that's an understatement." Before following up, "doesn't look like you're like the rest of the looneys around here, let's get ya back to town." All before walking away and looking back at her to follow.
Bryanne's mouth dropped at how casually Treecko spoke but didn't question and followed it. Until, they happened upon a small village or at least the bare bones of one as tents were placeholders for many homes and shops.
