Joshua's POV

It was almost midnight when we got to the pack healers or that's what Cole said when I finally came too. I had a concussion and a broken rib, but the healers say I'll heal in no time. I looked around large wooden structure and sighed getting up and headed to the pack house which was the first thing you'd see after existing the infirmary. The pack house was a large traditional structure made from Oak trees and bricks, modeled after lodge with tribal carvings on it. It is where the tribe holds meeting and where the Alpha council resides. The infirmary is basically in the backyard and behind that is an herbal farm where the healers grow all the herbs needed for healing and other stuff. Surrounding the pack house are houses for tribal members who either triggered the werewolf curse or who are home schooled. All of this is located in the center of the reservation while the rest of us who socialize with the towns people live closer to the main road. It's still covered in thick forest so we can be "ourselves" but close enough to go to school and stuff. As I walked through the door of the pack house in was greeted by Paul, Sarah and Cole sitting to the left. To the right were Samantha in a crop top with sweatpants and three wolves from her pack: Carla her right hand, Jake a slim silent guy with brown shirt hair and Amy, a short petite girl with a pixie cut. In the middle was Pamela Blackwood one of the council members. She was in a long floral dress with her dark hair in a braid running down to her waist. She was 76 years old but looking at her you could tell; she looked like she was in her early forty's. "Oh, good Joshua come sit, we have been waiting for you," her sweet voice washed over me and all of a sudden, I was calm. "So, I'm know you all have a lot of questions about happened and although I would've liked to do this in the afternoon the rest of the council decided that the sooner you know the better, unfortunately this is something most wolves prefer not to talk about." Her voice taking a sumber tone. "I'll take it you're all familiar with story of the first two werewolves Lycan and Luna?"

"Yea Luna the mother of all werewolves blessed by the moon and Lycan the father of wolves. Lycan was trapped in another dimension and Luna spent the rest of her life trying to save him," Samantha spoke up.

"Not quite my young Alpha. Luna and Lycan were two sides of the same coin. Both were gifted warriors, but Luna focused on being one with nature giving rest to various abilities we know today. Lycan on the other hand focused on the physical parts. It was after werewolves became to procreate and spread that Lycan found out a dark power, he committed the ultimate taboo. Cannibalism, he began consuming other wolves. Their speed, strength, agility, reflexes and even memories were added to him. He then went on a rampage killing and consuming wolves. It got so bad that Luna had to step in. The fight was vicious and lasted for an entire month until Luna with the help of a witch and the reminder of her strength sealed him in another dimension. But before Lycan they could seal him he's which linked his spell to theirs. Every full moon would still feel empowered by it, but we would be forced to shift into our wolf forms driven only by instinct and would stay in that form until the next full moon. To counteract it Luna merged with the moon so we would turn back after the moon's passing."
There was silence as we all processed what we just learnt. The father of wolves cursed us, this angered me. I triggered my wolf gene four years ago the night of Sophia's incident and for four years I had to go through the worse pain that can't be put in words. Movies make werewolf transformations on a full moon look so simple so easy and if it hurts, it was just a few growls bone breaks and boom wolf form. But they have no idea levels of pain we have to go through. To have every single bone in your body broken against your will. You can't stop it; the first few breaks and you scream. Your spine arches upwards and you shout, scream, howl, clawing at the ground looking for help but no one can save you. Your shine, ribs, feet, arms, neck and muscle fibers contract, resizes and morphs into something more animal like, by then the pain gets so bad that your vision gets blurry. You start praying for death in your mind because you have no strength to speak, your vocal cords are sore from, if you're unlucky enough one or sometimes two hours of screaming as your throat is stuck between gasping for air and trying to let out what should have been a scream came out as nothing but air. After that your nerves go into overdrive, your animal instincts take over to stop you from blacking out. If you didn't have the will power and you blacked out the transforming had stop until you wake up just put you through hell again. By now your skull would start to change becoming wolf like, your tailbone and extents to form the tail then the fur and claws finally come in completing the change only to realize, you are not in control of your body, you are a spectacular, a bystander in your own mind as your instincts take over. Whether you run around or even kill someone if you manage to remember once you turn back. You have to live with it.

" But if he cursed us to turn on a full moon does that mean we never normally turned?" Amy spoke up.

"No, we did not. We didn't need to kill someone to trigger the wolf gene either. Before the wolf gene would activate once you turn sixteen or if you went through a traumatic experience. Even though we have to kill to trigger it, some trances of our natural ways still manifest. Now trauma and becoming sixteen causes us to become more aggressive, no doubt an underhanded way for us to eventually trigger the wolf gene."

At that time Uncle Thomas walked in earning the attention of everyone. A tall, bright brown eyed, brown skinned, short dark-haired man with well-defined muscular body built for a warrior. He was dressed in a black cargo pants and a white shirt. Next to him was Aunt Teresa dressed in skintight ripped jeans and red and white floral blouse, her hair in a high ponytail. Looking at her I just see Sophia; she was a spitting image of her mother with most of her personality too. Flirtatious but not easy, beautiful smart, kind, talented but Sophia can also be headstrong, stubborn, scary when angry but can the nicest person you'll ever meet and a loyal friend.

"Thinking about my daughter while looking at my wife again Josh," I heard a calm deep voice in my head, oh right wolf telepathy. Mostly a close off my mind to it, hearing someone's voice in my head suddenly creeps me out but looks like the mind blocks went down when I lost consciousness. "Sorry about that Uncle Tommy I didn't mean to..." He chuckled mentally.

"Relax Josh, if Sophia ever gets interested in the opposite sex I wouldn't mean if my son-in-law is you. Besides you've always been like family to us," he said with a now visible smile on his face while I blushed.

"Thomas you're back," said Pamela with hope in her eyes.

"We chased to the end our border, but I don't think it'll stay there so until this thing is brought down, I advise all of you to be careful and watch each other's back. Now you have school tomorrow and it's already past midnight so off to bed." We all got up and started to head home without saying a word. By the looks on their faces everyone was processing the info trying to come to terms with to. I stopped and turned to Uncle Tommy. "With all due respect Uncle, I know you and Aunt Terry said you want to grow Sophia without any knowledge of us being werewolves and I'm ok with it. But based on that thing we fought and what Alpha Blackwood told us; I don't think anyone in this tribe is safe wolves or not." I walked away and headed home.

Pamela's POV

"Ok Tommy I know what you said was for the kids. Now tell me what happened?"

Tommy sighed, "We tried chasing him out of our lands back it was no good. While we were chasing him something wasn't right. It knew our territory, very well. It was halfway till we realized we weren't chasing away but it was leading us somewhere."

At this my nerves shot up and my hands began to shake. I got up with a stern voice. "Where did it lead you?"

"To... the dark caves. It somehow knew that place is forbidden for us, that we wouldn't follow it," Tommy said now tense.

"Do you think it's him Pam?" asked Teresa full of concern.

"I have a feeling that it is. It knew about the dark caves but only the tribes' wolves know about. The question is if it is truly him why come back now?"

Teresa stared out of space for a bit till something clicked. "Sophia's birthday."

"Sophia's birthday? What would he want with Sophia?" Tommy asked with worry.

"Not Sophia honey. Erik and Ethan. Sophia will be fifteen in two weeks."

"Then we'll tell them not to come home. To stay in Italy."

"Tommy it's their baby sister's birthday. The boys would come even if a hurricane was here."

Thomas made a deep sigh then looked at me. "We need to come up with a plan to deal with him."

"I agree but the council will decide on that," I said before Thomas and Teresa turned to leave. "I would advise you to take what Joshua said into consideration."
