My eyes opened to a harsh, bright light above me, and I smelled the strong omnipresent smell of antiseptic. Once my vision cleared after being temporarily blinded by the lights, I realized I'm in a hospital and hooked to an IV.
My upper torso hurt a lot, and my head felt like it got smacked against a brick wall. I have the biggest and most pounding migraine ever. And my right arm was in a light blue cast.
What the hell happened last night?
I looked for my phone to text Tara if she was alright. My phone was on the side table, so I reached for it wincing in pain. I grabbed it and started to text her. But first, I noticed six missed calls. When you have that many missed calls, it usually means a person really wanted to get a hold of you for a majorly important reason. Five of the missed calls were from Wes. To my surprise, the other missed call was from Sam.
Hm. Interesting.
Haven't heard from her in forever.
I text Tara first before I call Wes or Sam back.
After I sent her that text, I noticed my battery. Shit. It was on low, almost about to die on me. I should've charged it last night if I didn't get attacked...or whatever the hell had happened to me. I didn't have a charger on hand either. Great.
I impatiently waited for Tara's text. I just really hope she wasn't in the same condition I was or in a much worser condition. God, I wish I could see her.
"Come on, Tara, please answer." I begged to myself. If she wasn't going to answer in the next five seconds, I'll get out of this damn bed and get her myself.
Maybe she's at home or here waiting for me to get up.
Finally, she answered when I felt my phone buzzed, signaling her text message. I immediately read it.
I frowned when I saw that word. What did she mean by barely? What happened to her?
