Days before he's scheduled to depart the area disaster strikes
some members of the 19: a building collapse injures Battalion Chief
Robert Sullivan and kills Lieutenant Jack Gibson, and Lieutenant Maya

Battalion Chief Robert Sullivan, performing his last duty within the SFD before he leaves Seattle found himself trapped inside a collapsed structure with Jack Gibson and Maya Bishop; the two Lieutenants were killed instantly by a falling concrete pillar; another pillar barely missed Robert, glancing off of the hip and thigh of his surgically-repaired leg, disabling him...

"Luke...DON'T YOU COME IN HERE...DON'T LET ANYONE ELSE COME IN EITHER!"

"What are you talking about, Man! Give me your location and I'll'-

"NO! The building integrity is compromised-you said so yourself; Gibson and Bishop are dead and my...leg"-

"That's it-Frankel you're Incident Commander: I'm going in!"

"FRANKEL DON'T YOU LET HIM IN HERE-DON'T YOU DO IT!"

"Chief-why isn't anyone going in to get Sullivan?!" Andy is beside herself-nearly frantic.

BC Frankel tried to intervene: "Stand down, Herrera! The city engineers have deemed that structure too unstable for a rescue attempt: there are a dozen eyes on you right now and these hysterics are why the department was hesitant to promote you a command position!"

"Chief Frankel with respect that's my FAMILY in there"-

"WAS your family, Lieutenant! You're DIVORCED now; if you're unable to contol yourself"-

Andy tried to dodge around her superior-CHEIF RIPLEY; we're just going to leave him in there?!"

Ripley looked away and said, "He said not to come in: not me not ANYONE...he means YOU I reckon."

"We've lost Gibson and Bishop, okay they're dead...HE ISN'T!"

Frankel said, "Chief!" (warningly).

"At least let me talk to him Chief-PLEASE!!", Andy pleaded.

Ripley waved her over despite Frankel's scoffing noise, which he shut down with a withering glare. "Robert...it's Andy...Robert why won't you let us come in and get you?!"

"T-There's a...a...a letter in my of-fice...Luke can let you in...l-listen: do not come in here-you won't make it out..."

"NO! NO! I promised to protect you"-

"You...don't h-have to...honor that anymore, L-Lieutenant...remember? Anyways...I'm sleepy; I'm goin' to sleep..."

Andy screamed "NO! DON'T YOU DO THIS TO ME-YOU STAY ALIVE, I'm coming to get you!"

This can't be happening...IT CAN'T, that's all...after all that they've been through it can't end like THIS-not like THIS! Andy can feel a panic attack building...
