"Okay kids! I see some of you are sad that Ms. Hannah is gone now. But please don't worry! I'd like to introduce you to a new friend! But we have to call them, are you ready! Children over the age of 9 do not have to participate if they don't want to. ANYWAY! Oh Moondrop! Come on out will you?"
Moon shakes his head as he stands on the edge of a support beam making sure the decorative wire vest is sturdy so... he doesn't jump and splat, potentially traumatizing a room full of children...
No pressure.
"It's now or never... I prefer never..." Moon leaps off the beam and lands right next to Sun in front of all the children.
"Hello, Shooting Stars. I am Moondrop and I will be working with Sunny from now on. It's a pleasure to meet you all. I'll be available during play time, but I will be in charge during the scheduled nap time. Is that understood?"
Some of the children nodded, some said yes, others slouched at the mere mention of naptime, a few groaned believing they're 'too old' to have a nap.
Which is ridiculous. You're never too old for a nap.
Sun claps his hands to regain the children's attention and settle them down. "Okay children! In honor of our new friend, what game should we all play? Any suggestions?"
All the children raise their hands. Sun closes his eyes, spins in a circle twice then points randomly. "What's your name?" The child jumps up excitedly.
"My name is Vance!" The little brown haired boy with green eyes, and a bright smile says happily.
"Well Vance, what game do you suggest we play with everyone?" Sun kneels to the kids level and gives him a kind smile.
"FREEZE TAG!!" Vance screams and Sun smiles falters.
That's more chaotic than, regular tag... especially when they try escaping through the play structures... a kid was in there for an hour then it turned into some strange game of hidden and find... but I said they could pick.
Sun sighs lowly and brightens backup.
"Okay then! Sense you suggested it- your it! You can pick 3 others to help you out! The game starts in, 3...2...1...Grass! Hahaha!" All the children laugh and giggle.
"Come on Mr. Sun!" Says a child in the group.
"Okay, okay! 3..2...1...GO!"
Sun jumps back as soon as the game starts when Vance goes to tag him first. "Haha! Have fun!" Sun runs away and pulls Moon along.
"Watch the play structures." Sun whispers to Moon.
"Why?" Moon follows Sun behind a pillar, which allows them to see the children- yet hide from their sight. Sun laughs nervously. "Well- there's been times children get 'frozen' in the play structure. Some believe they should just stay there even once it's announced." Moon makes a face of pure confusion.
"Why...are children like that." Sun shrugs. "Been working with them for a while and I still don't know-" The rest of Sun's sentence was cut off by a child pushing Moon over and the both of them falling on the floor.
"Tag! Tag! Haha! Now you're both frozen" Moon grumbles and goes to get off Sun when the child pokes him in the cheek.
"No! Mr. Moon you can't move! Your frozen!" Moon looks at me then looks back at the child. "Kid, I'm just trying to get off Mr. Sun. I'm...crushing him?" Sun nods to the child, they hope will show mercy to the rising embarrassing situation.
