She walked slowly through the snowy street. She had her hands in her pocket and her head down. She wasn't ashamed of herself but she didn't want to keep lying to Devin like she had been.
I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin, I must confess that I feel like a monster! I, I feel-
"Ello!" Tessa said cheerfully into the phone.
"That's the worst faking you've ever done." Her only sister, Skylar replied.
"Shut up Sky. What do you want?" Tessa sighed into the phone receiver.
"I just wanted to check in. Wanted to make sure Devin hasn't hurt you." Skylar said, a smirk coming through her voice. Skylar was two years older then Tessa and was in college. Tessa was 17 and in her senior year of highschool. Her and Devin had both skipped a grade and had almost all their classes together. Skylar was quite protective over Tessa and got even more protective since their little brother died.
"We're doing fine. We recently moved in together."
"Already?" Tessa giggled at how her sister asked that.
"Yes but his parents understood my situation and are always checking in on us." Tessa replied.
"That's good. Anyway, I gotta study." Skylar said. The two sisters said their goodbyes and hung up their phones.
