You know what summer is it's late nights filled with bonfires, flashlight tag, the taste of s'mores, and many giggles, also it's long sunny days filled with planting flowers, ice cream covered napkins littering the table, watermelon rinds casting their smell into the air, and long walks in the forest. That's only when you're a kid though, when you start to grow up you start to have to do things on your own.
My parents decided for their honeymoon around twenty or so years ago that they were going to explore the state that they loved, none other than Michigan. They both had ancestors from Germany that were buried in an old abadoned town called Cliff. This required a trek through the woods and they came upon the stones, thus the rebirth of the town. When they went home to the lower peninsula father decided that he was going to take the money he had earned from the company and build a home up in the forest, he cleared eighteen acres, leaving enough room for more than one family to live. Mother invited her closest friends to come live up there with them, the begining of life for four newly wedded couples, set in a nowhere a town.
To the normal human this may seem weird, I find it darling though. Up here in this middle of nowhere, with who I would call my dearest friends. Between us triplets, the Cotner twins, Atticus, and the Bradley boys, it's quite the town when our parents are out on business.
This summer is going to be rad, we have the houses all to ourselves, the summer we've dreamed of since we were five, it's finally happening.
Goodnight world, with love, Adalia.
