Scott and Marlow were on their way to drop dinner off at the hospital for Melissa McCall. When they pulled into the parking lot their were a ton of ambulances and doctors and nurses running around. Finally finding their mother Scott waved her down with the bag of food.
"Thank god I'm starving." Melissa took the bag from Scott and started opening it. "I'm sorry.. Thank you for bringing me dinner." She said hugging Scott and then Marlow
"Is everything okay?" Scott said looking at their mother with a big smile.
"Except for half the accident victims in a 10 car pile up, being rerouted here from downtown. And the ER attending not answering any of his pages? Yeah, yeah I'm okay."
"What does not answering pages mean?"
"My guess is no one can find him, idiot." Marlow said rolling her eyes at her brothers idiocy.
"Exactly. And now we have to wait for the on call doctor." Melissa said pointing at her daughter. Marlow gave a smug smirk in Scotts direction knowing he could fell her smugness.
A patient walked over looking distressed "Miss?"
"Yes?" The oldest McCall turned around to face the middle aged lady.
"Excuse me, could I please have something for the pain?"
"I know, I'm sorry but giving you something could make it more complicated, So.." Melissa sat the lady down in a seat and Scott was watching them very closely "We just need you to stay calm and wait for the doctors to arrive"
"Okay." Anyone could tell she was in a lot of pain from the look on her face, and the second Melissa walked away, Scott sat beside the patient and started to calm her down. All the while Marlow spoke to her mother.
"Mom I was wondering if Scott and I could-"
"HELP! Someone help me! Come on I need help!" Ethan ran in holding an injured Danny in his arms. Melissa ran over and sat Danny in a chair in the waiting room.
"What happened to him?" Marlow asked before Melissa had the chance too.
Scott grabbed Ethan "Nothing. He said he was having chest pains, and trouble breathing. But it just kept getting worse."
"This isn't good. How much longer on doctor Hilliard?" Melissa yelled feeling Danny's neck. the receptionist just shook her head shrugging. "His larynx has shifted to the side. I think it's a tension pneumothorax."
Right after she said that Danny threw up all over the floor. Little parts of a mistletoe plant came out with all the other liquids in his stomach.
"Mistletoe?" Marlow asked looking at Ethan and Scott.
The supernatural teens looked at each other and then at Danny. After a space cleared up in the ER they moved Danny onto a gurney and wheeled him inside.
"Can you two please go back to the waiting room?" Melissa said pushing Danny's bed into the room.
"Where are the nurses and doctors? Where is everyone?" Ethan said looking at the nurse.
"It's a full house tonight, they're tending to other patients."
Scotts gaze shifted to Ethan, Marlow and then his mother. "Okay, well, Mom, how can we help?"
"Honey, you can't. His lung is collapsed. His heart is being pushed against his chest cavity, so--" she was cut off by Danny gasping for air. Marlow had seen someone die and from the sound of what her mother was saying It seemed like today would be the day. "Is he gonna die?"
Melissa hesitated before looking back at her daughter. "...No. No, he's not. Scott, you grab the tape. You, grab those scissors and cut his shirt open." She said pointing at Ethan. Scott ran over to the table and ran back with the tape in his hand Ethan ripped open Danny's shirt so Melissa could do what she needed too, to help. "Okay." She bent down to Danny's side Marlow noticed right away when he stopped breathing,
