You lived in Vancouver, Canada, in a cozy little one bedroom apartment. You have lived here for your whole life. You had a normal job; you worked at a bookshop called "The Paper Hound Bookshop." You loved working there because with in the chaos of the city you felt calm there. It was a small bookshop, nothing too big. Another reason you found the shop calming was because you found the smell of books calming. Nothing too exciting ever happened but little did you know what life would have in store for you.

It's Thursday, December 17th, the sun was shining, a few puffy white clouds lined the sky. You woke up, had some toast with a banana. You brushed your teeth, got dressed, then left for work. It was similar to any other day. You walked the streets of Van appreciating the buildings that surrounded you. Downtown Van always reminded you of a mini Manhattan, that's one of the reasons you loved it. You stopped to give a homeless person $20 when you saw they had a dog. You gave the dog a pet and wished them a nice day.

You lived about a 10 minute walk from the bookshop. That's one thing you loved about the city. Unlike New York, you could walk across the whole city in about roughly an hour.

You reached the bookshop, unlocked the door and let yourself inside. You rolled out the little book rack they always kept outside for people passing by to stop and take a look, and perhaps wonder inside. You made sure everything was in order than planted yourself behind the desk at the front.

The bookshop opened at 10am, it was now 2pm. You were reading a book yourself as you sat behind the little counter. You heard footsteps and saw a figure in your peripheral vision. You looked up and Immediately your heart got caught in your throat.

"Hello, welcome in!" You said in a daze.

This woman was enticing. She had raven coloured hair placed in a messy bun at the top of her head. She had the most beautiful green eyes you have ever seen, you actually got lost in someone's eyes for the first time. Her skin looked flawless. She had on a cream knit sweater with black jeans. It was December so it was a little chilly.

"Hello." She said with a small endearing smile.

Her voice sounded like heaven the moment you heard it. "She has accent" you thought, and you swear you had heard it before... somewhere, but you couldn't put your finger on it. As you looked down you noticed she had a dog with her. A handsome grey whippet.

You watched as she walked a little further into the shop, and scanned the shelves for anything that may peak her interest.

You moved out from behind the counter and went to the back to grab some more books that you would put out soon. You placed them on the counter and went about putting them into the system on the computer.

Eventually the green eyed beauty approached the counter with a few books.

"Did you find everything okay?"

"Yes dear, i come here few times a month." She giggled a little.

God you don't know what was happening but you couldn't help but swoon over this woman.

"You don't like books, you love books I presume."

"Indeed, i'm a big bookworm." A side smile placed on her face.

"I'm becoming one."

"Nice, anything you're reading right now?"

"Yes "A Little Life."

"Oh that's such a good book, it broke me, what chapter are you on?" She said softly.

"8" you replied.

You had just remembered you have dog treats in a little bowl on the counter.

"Can i give your dog a treat?"
