Knife Throwing Range
______________________________________[Luke's POV]
In the moment, it's hard to really decipher what happened. All I know is in a matter of five seconds, Tommy had yanked me by my arm roughly and we were running away from our once friendly fellow counselor.
"Oh my God." Jess yells shakily.
Chuck has never really been the fastest runner, to our advantage. "What's wrong with him?" I whisper shout as we turn on our way to the lake. Tommy just shakes his head. "I don't know but we need to get out of here."
We finally reach Lake Thorn Hill and the brunet instantly drags me towards the dock. When we reach the water, he instantly begins stripping down to his underwear and proceeds to get in the lake. I raise a brow at the action but follow him anyway.
"Wait wait wait." Jess mumbles quickly. "I'm gonna head to camp."
"What?" I almost shout. "Jess, no. We have to hide."
The blonde just shakes her head. "It's a good idea, trust me. I need to warn Suzanne and the campers. I'll be fine... probably. Chuck's pretty slow. For the most part. And it's more responsible of me to let you two hide since I've been a counselor three years longer than you two have."
"Okay, go. Quick." Tommy says as Jess nods and runs away. I turn to stare at the blond with a fuming, worried expression. "Tommy."
"Just get in the water." He orders. "He's almost caught up by now."
"I..." I let out an embarrassed breath. "I can't." Tommy's basically fuming at this point. "What now? We need to hurry."
"I can't... I can't swim." I look behind myself, making sure Chuck isn't in my field of vision yet. Tommy scoffs. "But... you're on lifeguard duty all the time!"
"I just pray that none of the kids actually need help."
Tommy scoffs. "Take off your clothes. Chuck's gonna get here soon." With that, I awkwardly stare down at my camp counselor uniform and take it off quickly until I'm only in my underwear.
Tommy rolls his eyes and yanks me by my arm, into the water. This causes me to try and retreat, but he rests his hands on my sides and pulls me into the water further. "Tommy! What're you—"
"Like I said, we don't have time for this. Just hold onto me, and it should be fine."
"Should be?!"
"Will be."
Once the water is up to our necks, Tommy pulls me under the dock. I immediately try to comprehend what could possibly be going on with Chuck.
I float beside Tommy as I hold onto him, awkwardly wrapping my arms around his neck to keep myself afloat, and we hide behind a wooden piling. I continue to breathe heavily, worried about the situation. He had a knife... to my head. And the only reason I didn't die was-
I glance ahead to my fellow counselor, who is steadily watching the lake's shore. His once 'sarcastic' eyebrows are now furrowed.
"You okay, shrimp?" He whispers without looking away from the shore. Honestly, I wasn't sure that I was. The nicest kid in camp is trying to kill me. "I think so, for now." I mumble. "Won't Chuck see our clothes by the shore?"
"Probably, but I haven't seen him swim ever this summer. I think he'll give up and try to find the others."
I shiver at the cold water's touch. Lake Thorn Hill is always freezing at night fall. "What if... what if she didn't make it. What if he's already to the campers?"
