With it came winter, Stalin called in Troops from the Siberian Front, and these Soldiers pushed back the Germans.
After suffering the Largest Invasion in History, they beat back their invaders. When they reached Poland, they absolutely annihilated the 9th Army of the Wehrmacht in Operation Bagration, which occurred in 1944. The Red Army was the first to enter Berlin, they stormed the Reichstag, planting the flag on top, and marked the end of the Third Reich. Hitler would shoot himself in the Fuhrer Bunker, Germany with no longer a leader, surrendered on May 7th, 1945.
