I float above the training ground, tuning out the boys below me and focusing on the air until I suddenly hear Zane. I look down curiously since he hadn't said anything till now, and watch as he freezes the training grounds.
The boys walk next to each other and I land beside them.
"This roof isn't big enough for the five of us," Kai says.
"Correction: This roof isn't big enough for him," Cole says.
"Well, he is getting better at using his element. Zane's ice is better than Kai's fire if we can recall." I chuckle, looking over to Kai, who was glaring at me.
"But this is different, It's like he's in his own world," He raises his voice and looks back at Zane, "I bet he can't even hear us!"
"Sensei, Zane's... weird," Kai says, as Sensei walks over.
"What is weird? Someone who is different or someone who is different than you?" Sensei responds.
'He spittin straight facts.'
"No, Sensei. He's "weird" weird." Cole says.
'I love Zane and all but they're right. I still remember that time that he was baking a log so that the monastery could smell like roasted wood.'
"We like the guy. He's really smart. He's just... a little off sometimes." Kai says, as we watch Zane bow to the training cut out and hit his head.
"Zane is a brother and siblings are often different. I should know." He says, looking away.
I crossed my arms and frowned, Garmadon...
We hear a loud gong and the guys except for Zane yell mail, all running excitedly to the gate. I sit down, watching as they all get a letter from their parents, except Kai who somehow got a fan letter.
Zane slowly walks over to me, and I give him a slight smile back, "looks like we're the odd ones out," I joke.
"Hey, How come you two never hear anything from your parents?" Jay asks us.
"Kai didn't get anything either. Fans aren't family." I point out.
"Neither of us remember our parents. We've been orphans all our lives." Zane says.
"You mean you've never had a home?" Kai asks.
Zane shakes his head.
"Sensei was kind enough to let me stay here since I was a kid," I say with appreciation.
