Chapter 9: Pete And Y/n

Y/n's pov:

"We were inside a van hopefully the walkers wouldn't be able to get in"

Y/n: "They shouldn't be able to get through that"

Pete: "On the downside. We can't get through them"

Y/n: "I hope Clem and Nick are okay.."

Pete: "Me too."

"Y/n was looking at Pete's bitten leg"

Pete: "What're you lookin' at."

Y/n: "What're you gonna do?"

"Pete looks at a hacksaw"

Pete: "Hand me that."

Y/n: "Cutting it off won't work.."

Pete: "Says who?"

Y/n: "I knew someone who tried it."

Pete: "Just because it didn't work once don't mean it can't work at all"

"Pete gets the hacksaw.. Y/n closes his eyes but Pete didn't cut it off"

Pete: "I'd bleed out like a stuck pig. What're you gonna do. Carry me out here on your back? Hell.. Just.. Just give me a minute"

Y/n: "Try and get some rest.. There is alot of stuff here. I'll try and find something that can help"

"Y/n looks around the van and finds a water bottle."

Pete: "Anything in that?"

Y/n: "Not much. Here"

Pete: "Thanks."

Y/n: "I'll keep looking around"

"Y/n sees a box and opens it."

Pete: "What's in there? Anything we can use?"

"Y/n shows a case of ciggarettes"

Pete: "Gimme one of those."

Y/n: "I don't like smoke"

Pete: "We're in the middle of a shit sandwich stacked this high. And you're actin' like a goddamn government regulator"

Y/n: "Im just sayin' it's gross"

Pete: "Just gimme those.. Got a light?"

"Y/n gets the lighter that was on him and lights the cigarette"

Pete: "Well that tastes about as bad as it smells."

Y/n: "Now what?"

Pete: "We wait."

Timeskip

"Y/n starts waking up and saw Pete laying and was groaning.. Y/n backs up a bit and Grabs a throwing knife and was aiming it at Pete's head"

Y/n: "Pete...?"

"Pete Coughs he was still alive"

Pete: "Dammit.. I feel like a ten pounds of shit in a five pound sack. Jesus.. Stuck in this can a whole damn day. You want to hear somethin' funny?"

"Y/n just listens to Pete"

Pete: "I've been thinkin'. And i don't want to die"

"Pete coughs again"

Pete: "Never thought that i'd would be the kind of idiot to say somethin' like that. But there it is. Im scared Y/n"

Y/n: "Everyone ends up like this..."

Pete: "You never think it's gonna happen to you. Would you... Would you promise you'll watch over Nick. I love that stupid kid.

Y/n: "I'll do what i can"

Pete: "Thank you. Been almost a day. They ain't gonna find us"

Y/n: "Where are you going?"

"Pete opens the back of the van a lil bit"

Pete: "Im not gettin' outta this. You're gonna have to make a break for it. I'll buy you sometime"

Y/n: "You're coming with me"

Pete: "To do what? Die a couple hours later than now?"

Y/n: "To say goodbye to Nick."

"Pete sighs"

Pete: "Alright. I'll try. Well... Like my daddy used to say we're burnin' Daylight"

"We stand up"

Pete: "Let's get this over with"

"We get out of the van and break for it"

"Pete stumbles"

Pete: "This ain't gonna work.. Go now and find Clem and My nephew"

"Y/n runs"

Y/n: "Fuck! Im sorry Pete.."
