introducing hwang hyunjin, cousin of the crown prince of Silla

————————+♡+————————
It was a lovely morning in Silla. Not so much for Hyunjin, who was currently hiding behind a tree to ambush a vampire who was going to walk by any second now.

A pair of hands waved aggressively from another tree. It was Jisung, giving the signal that the vampire was in sight. Hyunjin sighed, trying to remember how he ended up in this situation. Something about Jisung wanting some help with his crush.

Hyunjin leant from behind the tree to see more clearly. A figure was walking through the forest, on their way to the university. Jisung waved his fists at him, the signal for "the vampire is extremely close". He could see the vampire now, a handsome male with quite feline features (as was common in vampires).

Hyunjin barely noticed Jisung jumping out from behind his tree before both he and the vampire toppled onto the floor. The vampire stood up first, helping Jisung up as well. Hyunjin decided to stay behind his tree; he wasn't interested in getting into this mess.

"Hey, do you want to go on a date with me?" Jisung asked the vampire, giving him his "flirtatious" look.

"Is that why you just attacked me out of nowhere? To ask me on a date?" Hyunjin mentally face-palmed. He knew this was a horrible idea from the second Jisung mentioned hiding in the forest.

Jisung laughed nervously, "Yeah."

"Ok," The vampire replied, "This Saturday. Town Square at 11am."

Jisung looked as shocked as Hyunjin felt. He didn't expect the vampire to be equally as insane as Jisung. Perhaps insane people were naturally attracted to each other.

The vampire continued his walk to the university, leaving Jisung standing in the middle of the clearing, still in shock. Hyunjin emerged from behind the tree, slapping Jisung out of his shock.

"Well done," he said, "You've got yourself a date, by some miracle."

"Pinch me," Jisung replied, "This feels like a dream."

"I just slapped you about ten times, Jisung. You're not dreaming."

Jisung grinned, "I have a date!"

"Yes, you do." Hyunjin smiled, "Now we have to get you ready for it!"

-
"I'm not ready for this date!" Jisung screamed, flopping onto his bed. It was a four poster (king-sized, of course, as were all royal beds) with velvety red fabric shading it and a royal blue duvet and pillow set, matching his designer hoodie and jeans.

"Sit up, you're going to ruin your hair." Hyunjin instructed, sitting next to him on his bed. Jisung sat up, head in his hands.

"What if he thinks I'm weird? What if he doesn't like me back? What if he thinks I'm-" Hyunjin cut him off, holding his arm.

"He wouldn't have agreed to this date if he didn't like you, Jisung. Don't worry, it'll be fine."

"Really?"

"Yes, now let me fix your hair before you go." Hyunjin dragged Jisung over to the vanity.

-
The duo arrived in the town square just as the huge clock chimed 11. Hyunjin spotted the vampire, Mingo or something like that, standing by the library.

Jisung waved to Mino, who walked over to them. "You look nice," Milo said, making Jisung blush.

"You look nice too, hyung," he replied, turning away to hide his pink face.

"I'm going to leave you two alone now," Hyunjin spoke, "No funny business."

Mio nodded, "I'll take good care of him."

Hyunjin patted Jisung on the head before turning to leave. He had to do some studying, so he went off towards the library where Miko was standing earlier, waving goodbye to the couple. He noticed Micheal taking Jisung's hand as they waved back. Cute.

-
Jisung met Hyunjin in the same place they had parted. They said goodbye to Matthew and walked back to their dorm, Jisung practically bouncing in happiness.

"I assume we won't have to call the Royal Army?" Hyunjin joked, watching Jisung skip along like a drunk elf.

"It was so much fun! We went to the plushie building shop and made a cat and a squirrel, and they talk as well! And then we went to eat at the waffle restaurant and we shared one that had a dozen scoops of ice cream on it and then we went to his house which is really close to the town square and then we went to the tv store and changed all the channels to the kids channel and the entire store was playing Peppa Pig and then the owner banned us from the store after we turned up the volume to 100 on five tvs by the entrance and it was so much fun!" Jisung did a little spin, making Hyunjin laugh.

"So you like him, right?"

"Of course! Minho hyung is super funny, he kept imitating the snorts that they make in the Peppa Pig intro and he made his cat's sound the sound of my meows and he did a really bad squirrel impression for my squrirrel."

Jisung slowed down to walking pace, taking out the squirrel plushie in his bag.
It was a red squirrel, "Minho hyung said that the grey squirrels were evil because they stole red squirrels' habitats," and when he pressed its stomach, it made a sound resembling a very loud rat.

Jisung hugged the plushie, making it squeak again. "Today was so much fun, Jinnie," Jisung twirled around, beaming at Hyunjin, "I've never had so much fun ever."

"I'm glad that Minho is nice to you," Hyunjin said, smiling, "I think he'll treat you well."

They walked the rest of the way to their dorm, squeezing the squirrel at random intervals and bursting into laughter at the noises it made. Jisung showed Hyunjin the pictures they'd taken at all the different places, some with their plushies outside the shop, some in the restaurant with the waffle (which did, in fact, have 12 different scoops of ice cream on it), some with Minho's cat Soonie at his house, and several pictures from the tv store (including shots of Peppa Pig, the store owner yelling and several videos of Minho snorting).

Minho seemed very nice for a vampire, and Hyunjin felt like he was a good match for Jisung. He just hoped they wouldn't make him third-wheel on a date (unless he managed to gain the confidence to ask Felix out, then they could go on double dates).

He wasn't sure how the public would react to their crown prince dating a vampire, of all people, and there was obviously going to be some initial backlash with a vampire joining the royal family, but he hoped their relationship continued. Jisung was so happy after just one date, and he wanted to keep seeing his cousin happy like this.
