-------Hey guys! Before you read the poem, I wanted to explain why I wrote the poem. In class, we have been reading the book The Great Gatsby. Well, my teacher assigned us to write Found Poetry, which I found out it means "you hunt for language in an already-existing text and rearrange it to give it new meaning," as our teacher stated. So basically we use F. Scott Fitzgerald's words to make it our own story/meaning. And that brings me to posting the poem online, even though poetry's not really my forte. Lol. Anyway, I hope y'all like it and let me know if a should get an A or not. ;)---------
The Young and More Vulnerable Years
By Harmony RaidThe young and more vulnerable years...
Where ambitions a joyous moment
And heart a turbulent riotWhere an elusive rhythm an orchestra plays
The unsuccessful beating of ones lost words
And ones lost ways
The whispers of abortive sorrow
And short-winded dreams of delicate daysWhere an orchestra leader varies the notes
The lows and highs
And faint doubts
The confusing questions in the air
And remeasure of values it promotesWhere an opera's voice pitches higher in their part
The start of enthusiastic meetings
And gestures of exultation
The achievement of new well-being
And simplicity of the heartAnd heart a turbulent riot
Where ambitions a joyous moment
The young and more vulnerable years...Turned out alright in the end
