Y/n POV:
"So the team has been decided?" I questioned, staring at the back of Idia's head as he continued to type away on his computer. A book sat in my hands as I lay on my housewarden's bed, dressed in my proper school uniform. It was relatively early in the morning, still an hour or so until the bell for the day's first class would ring. Despite this, it was almost routine for me to show up at Idia's door on a school day, my schoolbag and a book in hand. "I may in fact laugh if you are on the team" I chuckled, making Idia stop his typing and swivel around his chair to face me.
"Yeah, I'm not on it," he stated, his sunken yellow eyes looking into my own. "You would've been the prime choice if you signed up," the blue-haired housewarden mutter, turning to face his PC once more as I rolled my eyes.
Of course, Idia was talking about the interdorm Spelldrive tournament that was taking place later in the month. It was a very famous tradition at Night Raven College, one that would gather spectators from all across the land. Many rich, wealthy, and royals would come to view, alongside people who scouted for professional players. And naturally, there was the general public who came as well, leading to various kiosks popping out across the campus. As a whole, I would nearly consider it the school's most famous event.
"I'm sure whoever has been chosen will do a good job accepting our inevitable failure to Malleus," I sarcastically remarked, looking back at my book. Even before the tournament was even thoroughly planned out, there was already a clear winner; Malleus Draconia. He had completely crushed the competition both years he had been attending the school. As I watched the battle between Ignihyde and Diasomnia in my first year, I felt embarrassed for how bad my upperclassmen were being shown up by the tall, horned, black-haired fae. "Maybe if people on the team drop out, I'll maybe consider joining, but I really don't want to have to stare down that housewarden," I added, already pitying mine and other dorms' teams for having to face Diasomnia.
"That dude is so OP..." Idia muttered, his PC loud whirling and noisy typing nearly drowning out his voice.
"Speaking of which... Don't you have a housewarden meeting on the Spelldrive tournament after school?" I questioned, making Idia pause his typing for a short moment before resuming. "I'm gonna make a guess and say you'll probably be staying in here for that, right?" I continued, chuckling when I earned no reaction from my housewarden. "Bet you're gonna have such a fun time with that..." I sarcastically finished, accepting I wasn't going to receive any acknowledgment from Idia as I resumed my reading.
"Y'know you have to be there too, right?" Hearing his words, I looked up from my book, glancing over in Idia's direction with a raised eyebrow. The blue-haired third-year slowly turned around in his chair, a grin growing on his face.
"Says who? Last I checked, I am neither a housewarden or a vice-housewarden," I replied, looking directly into his yellow eyes as I marked my spot in my book.
