Meet me again

After what happened in the chasm, the traveller decided to leave again for Inazuma. When he came back from there for the second time, his journey was put at a halt once again. He still couldn't go to sumeru because the adventurers guild still had job for him in liyue.

Plus Paimon heavily insisted to take a break from travelling and setting down in Liyue seemed to be perfect to her.

Paimon: Don't tell Paimon we will sleep in the wild again tonight traveller!

The blond didn't answered. He instead put out the blankets and stuff to light a fire.

Paimon: Alright Paimon gets it!

Aether: Tomorrow we will sleep in the Inn if you want.

Paimon: We better do!

Not that far from them was a man walking. Blood stains behind him. An unfazed look on his face. A dark aura was following him like a hunter chase it's prey.

A mask hooked up on his right hip as his hand was holding a pole arm, he was walking slowly trying to not make any sounds.

He was listening to everything around him to find something to kill. Not ready to find a traveller setting down for the night.

He teleported to the sound of fire crackling. The small man was ready to see hillichurls, and not a blond boy looking at him with a surprised, yet soft, look.

Aether: Xiao! You scared m-

Xiao: Sorry, i shall leave you alone.

Before Aether could even say a thing, Xiao already teleported leaving an anemo aura behind him.

Aether: I swear that he usually doesn't go away so quickly...

Paimon: Are you gonna talk about him all day? Think about your commissions first, then we'll talk about your little boyfriend.

Aether: He's not my-

He couldn't finish his sentence. A lawachurl just sent him flying.

Paimon disapeared in her little sprinkles leaving Aether alone.

Aether: Where did you even came from-

His enemy growled, looking up in the air as some ice spikes grew on his back to protect him from the traveller's attacks.

Katheryne: Ad astra-

Aether: I finished my daily comissions.

Katheryne: Thanks for comp-

The blond grabbed his reward and walked away looking in the bag to see what exactly he got.

He felt two little hands press on his shoulder and a warm breathing by his ear. He knew it was Paimon, of course.

Paimon: So... it there mora??

Aether: I know, you're hungry... what do you want for dinner?

Paimon: What do you think about going to the Inn tonight?

She was already floating her way to the road leading to the Inn before he could answer. He wanted to say no at first, he was scared to see Xiao again.

He seemed like it bothered him to see eachoter the night before and Aether wasn't sure why... but he did wanted to ask him about it deep down.

Paimon: Hello! We will take a room for the night please!

Verr: Here's the key, it's the same room as usual, i just washed the blankets!

Aether: Thank you.

He tilted his head toward Verr and walked away.

Once they were in their room both of them jumped on the bed, star positions.

Paimon: What an exhausting day! Paimon could sleep for years!

Aether: You didn't even work you little...

He jumped on her starting to tickle her. She got scared at first, Aether's speed when he attacked someone was pretty impressive so she was caught off guard. She lost her breath immediately, begging him to stop.

Xiao: Am i bothering?

The two friends stopped and looked where the voice came from, surprised to see a man standing in the window.

Paimon: Oh~

And she disappeared again, leaving without forgetting giving a naughty smile to Aether, making him a blushing mess for no reason.

He put his hand on his face, taking a long breath.

Aether: Hello Xiao...?

Xiao: Hello.

They both stared at eachoter in complete silence. Aether noticed for the first time Xiao's gaze seemed that calm.

Xiao: Come.

He walked out, making Aether follow.
