~Frank/Fun Ghoul's POV~

I can hear someone singing. But that's preposterous. No one fuckin' sings anymore. Better Living banned pretty much all music. Not that I necessarily listen to Better Living radio stations anyways. What can I say? 'Killjoy' stations play some positively kickass jams. I mean, who wouldn't want to listen to illegal music? Oh wait, just about everyone in Battery City.

"Who the fuck...?" I can't finish the sentence. My throat burns and I'm immediately clutching it, choking. I would cough, but my ribs are sore as fuck and my throat feels like it was dragged through ten miles of salt and sand in the middle of fuckign hell.

"Here, Midget-Boy, drink this!" I feel someting plastic thrust into my hands. Water bottle? It's already opened and I chug it down quickly. I feel a million times better. I can fucking feel it going through everywhere. It's a creepy-ass feeling, but it felt so good. I collapse back against the blanket I was laying on, breathing heavily. My eyes finally open and I see Party Poison kneeling over me, looking worried.

"The hell. Do you want. Party Poison?" He chews his bottom lip.

"We've been worried. You've been out since you dropped yesterday. You stopped breathing. We thought you wouldn't make it. Just.... worried, is all." I scoff and sit up.

"Hate to break it to you, Party Poison, but I don't want your worry." He frowns.

"Then what about my help? I happen to have seen the bruises and the broken nose which, by the way, I fixed for you as best I could. I wrapped your ribs. So tell me why the hell you were out here in the first place. Sound fair?" Dammit. Bastard. It did sound fair. I sigh.

"I got the shit beat outta me. Some people just couldn't take that I'm different, beat me up, left me there when some car that wasn't Better Living showed up and I ran. I couldn't live there anymore." He nods.

I collect my legs beneath me and move to stand up, but Party Poison has a hand on my shoulder. He's frowning and it's actually kind of adorable. He bites nervously at his lip.

"Listen, Midget-Boy, I don't know if you're good enough to stand up yet... Y'know?" I roll my eyes and stand up anyways.

"See? Everything's perfectly fine." It's only when I go to take a step that my legs collapse beneath me and I end up getting caught by Party Poison. I swear and stand again, but I just can't walk. What the fuck?

"See? Just sit down. You really need to get some more sleep." He forces me to lay down again. Then I realize. I won't be able to fall asleep. Blushing a million shades of red-for one, Party Poison was hot without his mask on. I mean, damn. It shouldn't be legal. Oh wait... He's a 'Killjoy. Anyways.

"Party Poison... Was that you singing before?" He smiles and nods.

"You betcha." I sigh again.

"Can you sing for me? I mean, until I fall asleep. I kinda- I can't... Fall asleep without music." He laughs softly and nods.

"Yeah, I can do that." I smile and close my eyes, turning my head to face his leg, which is rather close to my face. I let the words surround me.

So long to all my friends

Every one of them met tragic ends.

With every passing day

I'd be lying if I didn't say

That I miss them all today.

And if they only knew what I would say,

If I could be with you tonight,

I would sing you to sleep.

Never let them take the light behind your eyes.

One day I'll lose this fight.

As we fade in the dark

Just remember you will always burn as bright.

All I remember is smiling. The words were so soothing and calming, yet haunting.
