The Dance

its not cheating if we're not going out!

So, I know that you guys probably wouldn't just skip to the third chapter randomly, so I take it you read my last two entries, and you know that I left it of on how the next part is controversial for Carter, well, I think the name says it all. Now, lets skip over to new-years, when I WASN'T cheating.

It was snowing lightly outside, I was on my phone, waiting for Mary to reply to my text. It was taking a while and I had become entranced by the falling white specks. I thought about two weeks ago, when me and Carter had kissed. After Mary had sent it to Becca, Becca posted it on her Facebook page, after that, my phone was always buzzing with people asking me if me and Carter were going out. To clarify, no, we are not going out, he never asked me and we agreed that we shouldn't go out yet, but I did see him buying two tickets to the dance. Anyway, I was lost in thought when my phone beeped, I went out of my tranced and unlocked my phone. The text was from Ben, strange. I looked at it and read it out loud.

"Thalia, tonight you need to meet me outside the corner store down the street, around 7."

I sat there with my jaw hanging open, what should I do!?! Why did he want to meet!?! I was a little confused by the text, as you can guess, and my curiosity got the best of me. Before I could make up my mind, I found myself typing yes into the small keyboard. I checked the clock up in the corner of my phone, 6:16 pm. I considered my options, then headed up to my room to get changed.

I arrived at the corner store at 7:02, Ben was already there. I had changed into a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, but you could only see the jeans because of my winter coat. I walked up to him. he looked at me, he was wearing a loss pair of jeans and a short, black winter coat. his blue eyes flashed as the wind blew his dirty blonde hair to one side. Before, when I saw his blue eyes flash I would have melted, but not now. I still liked him a little bit, and if he made a move I could defiantly go back to liking him. I stared at him.

"why did you call me here." I asked, not wanting to wast anytime, because Mary was dieing to know what was going on. He moved closer.

"I'm so sorry, Thalia, I didn't mean to treat you so badly, I really like you Thalia, I do! Please give me a chance!" he said in a sad ton.

"Its a little late for apologies, isn't it?" I said, he moved closer and toke my hand.

"It shouldn't be." he whispered in my ear, I shivered. He looked me in the eye. " C'mon Thalia, you know that I would treat you better, I promise." he whispered, he leaned in and kissed me gently.

He pulled away and I looked at him, I shook my head slightly.

"no, no, no, this isn't happening, I can't like you, I can't." I said, I heard a giggle, I looked

over and saw Maudie on her phone.

My pocket buzzed, it was a text from Mary, "he kissed you!" there was a link, I clicked on it and a picture of me and Ben kissing came up, I looked over at Maudie, who looked at me and her expression turned to terror, I ran at her and she ran away, I ran all the way home.

When I got home I turned my phone to silent, so that I didn't have to see it when people texted me telling me that I was cheating. I picked up my phone and hit the button "reply to all" I sent " ME AND CARTER ARE NOT TOGETHER!!!!! leave me alone!!!!!!!!!" then I went up to my room and called Mary on the land line.
