The last chapter is going to help me revise the end of chapter five btw!!! :)

After we finally finish fixing up everything we did to Miss Charles's room, we started heading out. Vance's friend was still passed out on the couch, so it would be so much easier for us to leave.

We quietly opened the front door and speed walked to Vance's car. It looked old, like it was somebodys before. The paint was scratched and I'm pretty sure it was a 1972 Ford Pinto. It had the same shape as the car I've seen in some peoples yards.

We got into the car and Vance had beer cans everywhere. I always knew he wasn't smart. He put the keys in the hole, but the car wouldn't start. "This thing has always been a hunk of junk." He sighed and got out to pop the hood.

He opened the hood and checked the oil. He gave it a weird look, hinting something had been wrong, then put it back in. He closed the hood and then got back into the car. "The Oil looks fine, there's no smoke from the engine. Maybe just not this cars day." he tried starting it back up, but it still didn't work. He put a lot more pressure into each time he did, and each time the car making a kind of bird noise. Vance slammed his fist into the car door and looked out the window in defeat. All I did was look out the other window. After a few long seconds, Vance finally tried again, and again, and again. I was just focused on the black van slowly going down the road. It seemed like the closer it got to us, the slower it got. Eventually it stopped at the curb. The drivers seat door opened and my heart started racing. I never trusted tinted windows, especially in a van.

A man dressed as a clown came out. He had clown makeup on, a top hat, and a suit on. He was walking up to the car as my heart felt like it was going to stop. "Lock the doors." "What?" "I said lock the doors!" I said to Vance. He immediatly locked the doors, and luckily enough the man got to the car right when he did.

The man signalled us to roll the windows down, so of course Vance rolled mine down. I gave him a worried look in hopes he would roll it back up, but he didn't even notice. "Hello kiddos! I was just coming back from my show and noticed your car here wasn't starting. Need some help?" "N-" "Yeah. Pop the hood and let me know if anythings up with it." he demanded. The man smiled and went to pop the hood open. All I did was fiddle with my thumbs. I got such a bad energy from this guy. It felt like how I did at the party when I didn't know anybody there.

"There's nothin wrong with this here ca- Ah, that's it. You need some more gas. I've got some in my car if you need some." The man was still smiling. Vance was about to get out, but I held his wrist. "Just let him do it. I don't trust him." "You're overreacting." Then Vance got out. "I'll be careful. He won't do anything with a witness here anyway." Then he walked to the van as the man went. I decided to get out because what Vance said is pretty reasonable.

I got out of the car and slammed the door. I walked over to the van as he looked for the gas in the back. Vance was just standing there waiting for him. That's when I noticed black balloons in the back. I just made me lose trust of him even more. I just couldn't let my friend get hurt. I continued walking till I reached the van. The man looked me up and down, then kept searching. "You never told us your name." I said, trying to get his name to ask the police about him. "That's not really important. I'm just a little magician. A magician never tells his secrets!" He giggled. Me and Vance kept looking at eachother confused. "Found it! Now let's head on over to that car." Me and Vance just followed the man like he was a momma duck. The guy opened the little door thing to the gas. He filled it up about half of the can and said "That should do it. Now go ahead and start up that car." Vance got into the car as I leaned on it. The man kept staring at me, then started talking. "I saw you looking at those black balloons. How about you come take a look." He was still smiling. I was about to answer with a no till Vance yelled from the window "It works. Get in Y/N." "See you later!" The man said and walked off.

My legs were shaking. I finally walked to the passenger seat and got in. "Listen, I know that guy might have given you a certain 'vibe' but that doesn't mean you have to be fucking rude." I just looked out the window as Vance occasionally looked at me.
