She watched him from far, a small defeated sigh falling off her lips seeing him talking to his group of friends. Longing and desire shone in her eyes as she watched him beam and chuckle with his friends.

How cowardly can I be?

Her gaze broke as a sudden weight on her shoulders made her stumble forward with a slight yelp. Turning back to see her beaming bestie, who smiled at her cheekily.

"Aish...Don't do that." Y/n huffed shaking her head as she straightened up. Her best friend rolled her eyes at Y/n playfully.

"I'm sorry for jumping on you and interrupting your wholesome moment of staring at your Romeo.." she mocked at her playfully causing Y/n to turn pink in embarrassment and slightly punch her shoulder.

"Chae!" she whined. "Why are you so loud?" she sighed massaging her temples.

"Hey! I ain't loud. But seriously aren't you gonna confess?" she yelled. Y/n sighed looking at her best friend and giving her the 'I am so done face'. But laughing she grasped Y/n's shoulder and playfully shook her.

"Aw..my baby.." she cooed and ruffled Y/n's hair. Although Y/n was just 1.62 m and Chae-young stood a few inches taller, she always had the habit of ruffling Y/n's hair. Quickly getting Y/n annoyed as she claimed it was a gesture for kids and she ain't a baby. The fact that Y/n was never familiar with too much affection was another reason.

"Chae-young!" she pouted as her bestie messed her perfectly smooth hair. "Why'd you do it? Now I look I just got out of bed."

Rolling her eyes at Y/n's dramatic self, Chae-young opened her mouth put gasped immediately as she felt arms wrapping around her. A smooth peck on her neck caused her to instantly shut up and Y/n to gape. Blushing Chae-young looked at Y/n shyly with her boyfriend's arms wrapped around her in a back hug while Y/n looked at them in disbelief.

"Hey baby.." he whispered to Chae-young's ear and smiled at Y/n saying good morning to her too. Y/n's gaze moved away from them, to the group of guys surrounding them now. Him being right next to her just as she turned her head to the right. Just as he looked at her, she looked away and sighed at the view in front of her.

"Get a room guys..." she muttered away from the view of her best friend making out with her boyfriend in the middle of the hallway. Unknowing a pair of doe eyes watched her walk away with a small warm smile.

She moved further away from the crowded hallways just as she walked away from the long-ass boring lecture. She used to love this subject but things turned upside down from the new teacher that taught it with a lot fewer emotions. Making the lectures themselves uninteresting and way too long. Moreover the text she received a few moments before seemed to sour her mood more.

She walked with her head hung low and thoughts clouding her head. One of them being about Chae-young and to-god-knows-where-she went. Although she knew she didn't have to worry because Chae surely was with Jimin, her boyfriend. Sighing she rubbed her face frustratingly as she walked up the stairs weakly when she just wanted to disappear from the world right now. But the world's a harsh place. Even the thought of taking her life made her guilty. And moving on seemed harder and it drained her.

Opening the metal door she slipped out to the open space of the rooftop, closing the door behind her. Drawing in a deep breath of the fresh air she relaxed, dropping her bag on the floor she walked to the edge. Stepping up on the plastic bucket, she helped herself to sit on the high-built parapet. Slinging her legs to the other way, so that there was nothing below her feet yet her focus remained on the blue sky.

It seemed particularly windy with clear skies. And it somehow calmed her oddly although she preferred dull skies and windy weather or even the summer rains. She closed her eyes and placed her arms on either side of her and propped up to face the sky. A light smile graced her face. So into the moment of relaxing, she didn't hear the sound of the metal door creaking indicating someone came in. Chocolate brown eyes scanned the place until his eyes fell on her. His heart raced in worry to see her sitting on the edge with her back facing him. He walked almost too quickly to her and stayed next to her alert. Just in case.

"Y/n.." he softly let out, causing her to open her eyes slowly and turn her head towards the all too familiar voice. Her molten brown eyes stared right at his chocolate ones. Not a word was spoken as they gazed at each other with familiar feelings in their hearts yet felt afraid to say it out to the world. But his eyes filled with worry and concern and his forehead slightly crinkled seeing her teary eyes and tear-stained cheeks.

His fingers unknowingly brushed away the wet tear stains as Y/n unknowingly leaned to his warm, soft touch.

"Why are you crying?" he asked her gently while she just looked at him with an indescribable emotion. Her silence killed him. But he knew her too well although they barely spoke. Caressing her cheek lightly, he softly embraced her. With her head on his shoulder and his arms securely trapping her to him afraid that if his grip loosened she'd fall away.

The warmth of their embrace made them both close their eyes in satisfaction. For a moment, she thought to herself.
