"You are SO a bad influence..."

"I am NOT! Look..." I stopped packing "At any point tonight you don't feel up to it, you can turn around and go back. I mean it, anytime you want. No one's making you come out tonight, Faith."

The last part came out harsher than I'd intended it to.

I tried to soften my words "For real, no pressure. I'll even take you back here myself."

I walked into my shared bathroom, taking a couple things out and adding them to my "spinnanight bag". I do a quick once over in the mirror, satisfied with my look for the night and walk out.

The plan was to sneak out with a couple friends, stay over at their place for a while to chill, have a drink or two until I had to go. Then high tail it back to my dorm before my RA Toni, noticed I'd been out all night.

Easy.

"To be fair, I would need someone here to stay here and stall just in case there's any unplanned stops made by Toni..."

I looked back over at my friend.

She rolled her eyes "So I guess just that's my job now, huh?"

I shrugged "I mean you said it yourself; you don't really want to come out tonight..."

She sighed "Yeah, but I don't technically live in this building, or at least down this hall. Wouldn't that be strange?"

I thought for a second "Well just say you're staying over for the night."

Faith sat on my bed "Of all nights. Your roommate goes home for the weekend."

I sat beside her "And of all dorm buildings, I end up in Hawthorne Hall with the strictest RA on campus..."

Faith tried to level with me "Honestly, it's not a bad thing. Toni doesn't want to get fired and she'd rather all the girls here, stay safe."

"Yeah, that's true. I can't really fault her for that one. Hey, um I think my suitemates are still here, they can cover for me. Are you sure you don't want to come? Kevin will be there."

Her eyes lights lit up for a second, but then shook her head "Another time, have fun girl and stay safe."

***********************

I had one of my suitemates distract Toni...

Apparently, she clogged her lab partner's bathroom sink, so that sucks.. To be fair this was the better option, it was either that or she'd set off the smoke alarm. As I walked out of the building, I had to fight the want to turn back and get Faith. I'm not a bad influence, it's just that sometimes we all need the live a little, ya know. It doesn't mean that you have to do something crazy and have a wild night of debauchery. Sneaking out from underneath your Warden of an RA's nose and going to a bar with some good friends seems reasonable, right?

I made a beeline to my car while whisper-screaming "Whoa!! Yes!! Freedom!!" and peel out of the parking lot.

After a forty-five-minute drive I pull to my hometown's local bar and check my phone, Melanie was already inside. Tonight, was supposed to be mixed group of friends from back home and some college buds. Willow, Jessica and Tevin.

"Awe they saved a seat for me."

I threw my stay over bag in the backseat and got out my car.

"Watch out!!"

I looked over my shoulder "Huh?"

I was too late, some psycho on a skateboard crashed into me and we landed smack onto the curb. While he sprung back up, brushed himself off I unfortunately was still on the ground. He held his hand out to me "Oh my God! I'm so sorry... I just got this thing, and I had a friend give me a push..." With his other hand he gestured to an even shorter guy with brown curls who looked panicked.
