[ Maisie ]

"So, why do you think this job fits you?"

I am sitting in a little office in the back of the flower shop. After I received the email from Nicia I invited her for an interview today.

Her red hair hangs down in loose curls and her gorgeous green eyes pierce into mine. She is a breath- taking woman. Telling me that she only recently moved here explains my question, considering that I have never seen her before.

She's a very open person and seems very genuine. I really like her, definitely better than all the other people that ever applied for this job.

"I'm gonna be honest, I like flowers. I buy myself a new bouquet every week, but I don't know much about them. But I am open to learn. You are the only shop here in Warlington that would bring me fun working in."

I don't see that as a problem. When Zoya started she didn't really know much as well, but I happily shared my knowledge with her.

Nicia's eyes flicker while she adjusts herself in the rather uncomfortable wooden chair. Then she goes on "When I moved here, I really hoped for a little café where I could work in. But surprisingly the cherished little Warlington doesn't have a coffee shop"

Disappointment takes over her and I can see her passion for coffee shops.

"I'm sorry. If only I could, I would open my own." she lets out a long sigh full of emotions.

I know how she feels. Even though Warlington already had a flower shop, I always dreamed of opening my own. It's really good to have a goal in life. In my case, that was the only thing worth living for.

"I feel you. I always lived here and I loved the flower shop we had here and always wanted to open my own. So I started working hard and saved some money. Trust me it's worth it."

Her eyes flutter, swinging her long lashes in a quick motion. Then I see the deep green colour again. Reminding me of the colour of spring growth. My favourite season. Her hues present all the shades of the nature, soft and bright all at once.

"I'm hiring you. If you want to take extra shifts you're more than welcomed. I would love to make your dream come true. You have my full support, Nicia"

Her heart shaped lips fall open and I can see the water glinting at the rim of her eyes. Her expression is now full of overwhelming love, and thankfulness. I smile at her reaction, because I find myself in it.

That would probably be the sight Darren and Zoya saw when they told me about their agreement on helping me.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are an angel!" the high pitched voice of her fills my ears and I can't help but let out a small giggle.

I love making people happy. Because seeing other people passionate and happy about something makes me happy as well. I clearly am an empath.

"You could start tomorrow. I'll get the documents, real quick."

I reach for the drawer of the desk and grab the stack of papers. Sliding them across the desk in her direction, I grab a pen and place it on top of the contract.

I give her the needed time to read the contract thoroughly.
Her eyes trace over the lines and her hand grabs the pen, curling her fingers around it as she elegantly swings it over the paper, signing it.

When she's done, she looks up and hands me the documents with a heart melting smile on her face.

Her green eyes sparkle with love, making me feel good about my decision.

"So how did you stumble across my shop?" asking out of curiosity I intertwine my hands on the desk.

"My cousin told me about it. She must have read your advertisement." The sentence leaves her mouth with an emotion of happiness.

"Oh I see, is your cousin from here?"

"No, she lives in New York. Don't know why she saw the ad from Warlington to be honest." she says, laughing a bit.

"When exactly should I start tomorrow?" Her lips move as she excitedly questions.

"How about 9 a.m.? My shift starts at 8 a.m. and Serena should be here that time too."

"Great! I'm really excited!"

My body moves and I get up from the leather chair as I round the desk to the opposite side where she was seated just a moment ago.

She did the same as I and is now standing in front of me. Her smile hasn't disappeared from her face yet and something tells me it won't leave for the rest of the day.

I escort her out of the office back into the flower shop. Zoya is helping a customer picking out flowers, and Nicia looks around the shop in adoration.

"So this is where I'll be working"

I let out a laugh—" Yea that's where you'll be working."

"You really did great with designing, Mrs. Lavon"

Her eyes find back to me, that little smile still placed on her lips.

"Oh please call me Maisie. And thank you but Zoya did most of the designing, I really suck at aesthetic pleasingly things. Sadly." I chuckle.

I am a really chaotic person. I forget everything. And I'm really messy. Luckily Zoya is the complete opposite. She cleans everything I mess up, and I can tell she finds fun in it. Just like I do in flowers.

Zoya heard her name being called so she turns around and winks—"Yea I'm really good at it."

"I will see you tomorrow, Nicia. Have a good day and a safe journey home. I can't wait for tomorrow!" I exclaim in a squealing voice. Maybe not really professional but I'm the boss. I make my own rules.

"Thank you so much, Maisie! See you guys tomorrow, have a fun day!"

She turns around causing her red hair to swing in a fast move. The clacking sound of her heels hitting the ground echoes through the shop as she leaves through the door.

I return my focus on my work as I hear Zoya approaching me.

"That went quick. You can be relieved now, Nicia, Serena and I will take care of the store while you're taking care of yourself at the beach house." she happily says, wrapping her arms around me, pulling me in a tight hug.

Her hugs are the best. They are comforting and make you forget everything around you. The warmth of her body embraces me and I am surrounded by the fresh smell of her perfume.

"I'm so glad we found someone. I am almost 100 percent certain that she is the right one to work here." Mumbling into her shoulder, I automatically hug her a little closer before releasing her.

"We'll see tomorrow" giving me a quick smile, then she starts cleaning up the counter.

Hoping that Nicia will adjust herself quickly, so I can go on my vacation as already planned, I help Zoya clean the shop.

After we finished cleaning we grabbed our things and make our way outside as I lock the door, praying for tomorrow.
