The records room of Beacon Hills hospital was never a fun place to be. It smelled like a build up of mildew between the wall and that could very much be the case as the older files were relocated to storage next to the boiler room in the hospital basement.

Melissa pulled a box off the tall shelf before shifting through its contents and replacing it, only to move onto the next. She was looking for a file that should be here, but in a place like this, finding something on the first try could be a hit or miss. Maybe when Delilah was back from her leave she could refile this room like she did to the active records upstairs.

Replacing the box she had pulled back onto the shelf, she reached for the next and removed the lid.

According to her search results through the hospital database there was one other case in the hospital that matched what Stiles was currently going through. If she could find it then maybe she could better identify what was happening to the boy.

It was the sixth box she dug through that revealed the yellow folder with the matching patient number that she needed. A sticker that indicated deceased 2004 carefully adhered to the top. Melissa clutched the set of documents tightly as she sat back on her heels and slipped the warn cover open.

Her heart sank.

Out of all of the possibilities and cruel tricks life could play on someone she would have never guessed she would be holding Claudia Stilinski's file.

Melissa sighed heavily as she tucked the folder under her arm and replaced the box back on the shelf. Checking the watch on her wrist, she realized it was about time to go. Stiles should still be asleep and wouldn't wake up for hours but it would be best to check on him again, especially if what was happening was anything like his mother's.

Derek was stationed the chair outside of the door to Stile's room. His head was leaned back against the wall and his eyes were closed.

"Sleeping on the job?" Melissa jested as she stood in front of him and tapped him on the knee with the pen from her scrubs.

He snorted lightly as he cracked open an eye to look at the woman.

"Not sleeping, Mel. Just listening."

Melissa folded her arms across her chest, careful to not bend the file. "And what do you hear?"

"A still sleeping kid," he paused as he tilted his head so his ear faced the ceiling. "And a sneaky wife who is trying hard to hide that she is working."

Melissa sighed. "Well she isn't supposed to be."

"That's what I said but Dr. Gibsons looked like she could really use the extra set of hands. I swear she was going to get down on her knees and beg."

"Oh, Dr. Gibson you say?" She had a mischievous smile curl across her face.

"Yeah? I don't recognize them."

"She's only here for special cases and if Delilah is available, she'll always rope her into her department whether she's assigned to it or not. She thinks Delilah has a bit of a magic touch." Melissa wiggled her fingers dramatically.

"I didn't know that," Derek frowned.

"She doesn't talk about it much," Melissa added with a small smile. "And I'm pretty much done here, so let me check Stiles and then I'll take you up to her."

Derek nodded as she slipped into the room and he continued to listen for Delilah through out the hospital. Her heartbeat was steady and content. Whatever she was helping with didn't seem to bother her one bit.

Melissa emerged again, looking satisfied. "He won't be up for a long while."

"Good, Noah dropped his pillow off when he came to check on him about an hour ago and said it would keep him down for hours. I didn't believe him at the time but even through the sleeping drugs, he hugged that thing as soon as it was place beneath his head."
