Naomi 'Amy' Gutierrez was born someplace in New Mexico. Her parents were separated and she had an older brother and an older sister.

Being the youngest, her life was golden. She hadn't any problems for years.

2 years after her birth, she moved to an ugly part of Pensilvania. Trashy and gross.

Though, she was very humble and hadn't thought anything of her living conditions.

When she was ten she met a boy. Not a happy ending there though.

The boy took her to his house and raped her brutally.

This was Amy's first problem with many more to come.

Maybe her life would get better? She hadn't thought so, but maybe?

She stayed with this boy for a while. She didn't know how to get her life back in control but she was to wait until it would put itself back into motion.

Naomi knew she did things without thinking. She hated it. Not like she could do anything about it. Maybe because she didn't think about it.

She wasn't any good at school. After she was raped, her grades began to drop and so did her behavior. She was mopey and didn't seem to be interested in anything. They all wondered what was wrong with the girl. She never told anyone about the boy. After 2 more weeks, she dumped him.

None of her friends seemed to enjoy hanging out with her anymore. Her parents seemed to only get angrier at her. It was like everyone was conspiring against her.

Amy finally found a loophole. A way to escape it all. That is, if the loophole has worked. But, it didn't.

When Amy was only 13 years old, she smoked for the first time. It's not like it helped. It was like if you had inhaled a bonfire. Gross and it made her cough.

Naomi had past breathing problems so it's not a wonder why it would be hard for her to smoke. The first time she smoked, she had an asthma attack. Her new friends were anything but pleased. They didn't like how she made a fool out of herself. Not that they could control that.

HIGH UP (chapter 2)

Amy started high-school and things got a little better for her. She made new friends and new friends comes with a better life, right?

She got on the bus one day expecting a friend to sit next to her but, no. She was met with a girl with brightly colored neck-length hair. Her hair was a kind of dark red. She wore a navy-blue jean jacket with lots of pins.

The girl looked at her for a moment. "Hah! You look like.. Sporty Spice!" The girl said, making a reference to the Spice Girls.

"Fuck off." sighed Naomi.

The red-haired girls smile faded.

They got off the bus and started heading to their houses. Nobody lived in this neighborhood except them. Which is why Naomi decided it was a bad idea to move here but, her parents didn't care. It was cheap and away from everyone. She simply accepted her defeat.

"Cassie. But, my friends call me Casper." The red-haired girl held out her hand to shake.

Naomi nervously shook it and replied with "Naomi. But, you can call me Amy."

"Cool.." Casper mumbled.

Casper reeked of alcohol and cigarette smoke.

"Why're you here?" Amy only now realized Caspers' Scottish accent.

"What?"

"Why're you here? Nobody moves here without reason. It's pretty shitty out here, isn't it?" Casper chuckled.

"Yeah. I think I moved because my mom had some new job down here. It was a long ride though because Pensilvania is so far from Tennessee."

"Ah! Tennessee! I've been there. I must say, the entire work ethic there is bullshit. Probably because of all the junkies and the fact nobody gives a shit there anymore." Casper sighed.

"Well? Why're you here Cass?"

"My dad works around the globe. It's pretty boring to be honest. I've been almost everywhere already. My mom jumped out the window into rushing traffic when I was nine. Sure did leave a mark. She's dead." Casper seemed to giggle at their own joke.

It seemed pretty sick for Casper to laugh at that. Considering, it was their own mother and they were making a joke out of her death.

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"No. It's ok! She was high when she jumped out and nobody could control the woman. I guess you could call me a crack-baby?" Casper laughed.

"My dad died during a shooting in a museum. They pretty much stole everything and put a gun to his head and shot him." Naomi's thought of her dad, Craig, made her shudder.

She couldn't imagine the overwhelming fear and pain he was in.

"Ah.. sorry."

"It's ok." Amy sighs.

"Drink?" Casper questioned. Amy just looked at them confused.

"What?" She responded

"Do you want to drink? I have beer at my house."

To be honest, it didn't really shock Naomi that Casper drank beer. She could smell it on them on the bus.

"I haven't ever drank before."

Casper laughed.

"You'll have fun." Casper giggled.

The two girls reached Casper's 'humble home'.

"You sit here. I get the drinks." Amy sat down awkwardly on Casper's bed.

To Naomi, it felt safe with Casper. Even if, they were the most odd 15-year-old she'd ever met.
