Chapter 1

Joyce was sat up reading her book 'Little Women' the kids were comfortably tucked up in bed and hopefully asleep, she was thinking about how calm life was now that everything had calmed down and she was finally happy. But then a knock at the front door snapped her out of her trance like state, she glanced over at her clock the numbers read 11:45 who on earth was at her door at this time?! She walked towards the door and started to unlock it. Once she had she took a deep breath in before flinging it open only to be devoured by Hopper, his left hand found her waist and her right cupped her cheek she had a moment of shock before kissing him back. They were soon interrupted by "ewww" El stepped out of Hopper's truck seeing Joyce and Hopper makeing out! Joyce giggled "you could've told me that you had bought her along before kissing me Hop. " Hopper went bright red "Well I sorta forgot she was there?! And then I got carried away seeing the woman I love? "  El pushed past her dad and stepped inside " well what brings you here at now ten to twelve? " Joyce asked whilst closing the front door behind Hopper. "Erm well El wanted to have a night time shower and... Our door has been barricaded by someone trying to get back at me for something so we can't get in... "Hopper hung his head "Oh my god Jim Hopper you are such a idiot " Hopper smiled his big goofy smile "But that's why you love me right? " Joyce didn't answer him and walked off instead "I'm going to go and have a shower now if thats alright with you Joyce?" Joyce nodded at El "Yes of course you can but have you got a towel? If not you can follow me and we'll get you one! " El looked up at Joyce "Like dad said the door was barricaded in so no I don't have a towel but I would like it if you could help me get one " Joyce nodded Hopper however looked furious " How dare you talk to Joyce like that? HOW DARE YOU! SHE IS LETTING YOU USE HER SHOWER AND HER TOWELS NOW DON'T BE A BRAT AND THANK HER FOR GOD'S SAKE! " Hoppers face was red, El was hugging onto Joyce's arm and Joyce was holding one arm over El and one on her shoulder. A single tear dropped down El's cheek "I-im sorry mom I didn't mean to come across as rude or anything please i-im so so so sorry I don't want to make you upset! " Joyce turned El around "oh sweetie don't be silly hunny you didn't upset me or make me mad you were just pointing out the obvious something that I clearly missed so don't be worried. You know what? I think you should go to my room and if you go into my washing basket, don't worry it's all clean clothes, then i think your underwear and some socks from the last time you stayed are in there,you can look through my draws and find a shirt and some pants if you want I will come in soon and get you down your towel ok? I will get you some pj's and then you can go to sleep!" El ran into Joyce's room her little eyes lighting up at the thought of seeing a bunch of new clothes. Joyce turned to Hopper "What did you do that for? Huh? There was no need she didn't do anything. You scared her, her own dad scared her. Why just why?" Hopper looped his arms around Joyce's waist and planted his chin on her shoulder "I don't know I guess I just thought her tone of voice was rude and I didn't think it would be right for her to be rude in your house"      Joyce laughed "She called me mom even if she had upset me then I would have forgotten about it straight away but thank you for trying to stick up to her from me. I love you Jim Hopper "
