CHAPTER 3

Huhh today was a very long and terrible day but I somehow managed to survive and get in here haha. I'll blabber a little in the beginning of almost every chapter so bear with me okay? Don't be disturbed :') happy reading!

I was exasperated.

"Ugh! I can't choose anything to wear!" I stood amidst of the pile of my clothes which I just made half an hour ago. It was my first day at Princeton and all I wanted was to look a bit presentable in front of everyone. It's not like I was insecure about my looks or I hesitated going in front of people but, the matter was I believed in the saying, "First impression is the last impression." 

So it was pretty obvious that I would try to look decent in front of my new teachers and classmates.

"Eve! What happened? " Ann rushed to me and looked at me with widened eyes, "God you scared me Eve! Look, you’ve made a mess around you!"

"I can't freaking choose anything to wear Ann!" I said frustratedly.

"You look pretty in literally everything! Just grab something random and rock with it my fashionista," She tapped under my chin with her finger twice.

"You sure?" I pouted, making her coo at me.

"I swear I'd have bitten your lips if I was your lover! Don't act so cute I can't take it!" she dramatically put her hand on her heart, "Let me get ready too Eve."

Saying that,she pecked my cheek and left my room, leaving me in more confusion.

I scanned Through my clothes once again which were now piled up on the floor and finally, took out a red jacket and black denim to wear it with a white tee. Standing in front of the mirror, I tried to fix my wavy hair and decided to just keep it untied. My looks made me satisfied after putting on the least amout of makeup as I never prefer to wear any earring or accessories.

"I'm all done Ann!" I called her out while putting on my wrist watch.But suddenly a sneeze shook my insides.               

"Eve!" Ann got out of her room, "You're sneezing! Are you alright?"

"It's nothing just-" I couldn’t finish my sentence as another sneeze made It's way through my nose.

Ann carefully put her hand on my forehead before gasping loudly, "Look what you did to yourself Eve! You’ve got a fever! " 

"Fever??" now only this was left to happen?I was feeling weak from the moment I woke up so, there was nothing to doubt her words because It's beyond normal for me to get a fever after 'enjoying' my rain-bath every-damn-time. I haven’t even attended my classes and Now this fever, why always me?

"Will you go or you can skip-" Ann was trying to convince me to not go but I cut her off.

"No way Ann! It's my first day and I'll attend in any way…. I'll just take a paracetamol when we return ok? I'm not feeling that weak, we're getting late!" I grabbed her wrist and pulled her outside of the door, "Let's go!"

"Shit I'm late!" As soon as I stood in front of my classroom we saw the room packed up with students. Class was about to start in ten minutes so I rushed in. Ann had another course so we weren’t in the same class. 

My eyes started searching the whole room for an empty sit and just then, I heard a voice, the voice I was craving to listen all the time after arriving here in new Jersey. 

"Eve! On your left!" 

"Sean!" 

I snapped my head towards him, my boyfriend Sean with whom I fell in love a year ago. He was a grade senior than me and we were at the same school but for getting enrolled in Princeton, he skipped a year and then got admitted here with me at the same session. Though we were friends and study buddies for years but our parents were yet to know about our relationship as we both decided to announce us as a couple after getting admitted here and this was the perfect time, we both knew. 

I ran towards him and hugged him tight, almost blocking him from breathing.

"Oh Sean I missed you, I missed you so much…." I pecked his cheek not paying attention to the judgemental eyes of the rest of the students.

"I missed you too Eve…" He smiled at me and placed a light peck on my lips making me flush. But in a second I felt the room spin around me and I lost control. We both were still standing so before I end up on the ground Sean grabbed my either sides to prevent me from falling. Thank God that I still was in my senses and It was just that fucking fever that made me weak. 

Before Sean or I could utter any word the whole classroom went silent and all the students stood up. 

"Good Morning Sir!" the whole class uttered harmonically.   

"Morning, students," A short and calculating reply of a deep voice resonated throughout the classroom as I still was unable to see his face. But the voice sent chills up my spines. I stood up properly and tried not to remember my fever though it was trying to take over me.

"Sean It's okay yeah?" I mouthed as he was wrapping his hand around my waist in case I feel weak and lose my balance. 

And right, I lost my balance when I saw my new Professor .  

It was him, the guy I met on our apartment's rooftop.

"I'm Kim Taehyung, and I prefer you to call me Professor Kim. I hope I can give you a clear concept about Biotechnology and you’ll have me till the last year. Whoever will be taking a major on this subject, I'll try my best to help you in your academics and your thesis papers."  

"What?No!" I couldn’t suppress my words and the whole class stared with shock at me, and so, 'Professor Kim'

"Excuse me?"
