Chapter 1

4 0 1

I literally threw myself on the couch, of course, after I place the bowl with chips on the coffee table.
I grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. I flicked through the channels, since there was nothing good to watch. After a while, I settled for an old episode of Friends.
Just as I got comfortable, my phone rang.
I rolled my eyes and got up, in order to answer the phone.
I ran up the stairs and into my room. It was lying on my bed. I checked the caller ID. It was Zach, of course.
"What?"
"Heyy Kate!"
"I repeat, what?"
"Someone's got their panties in a knot. I was just wondering, can I come over?"
"Sure. When?"
"Now. I'm 5 minutes away. See ya!"
"Wait, what?"
He already hung up.
Well, shit.
I got changed into something decent, because I wasn't going to be around Zach in a used-to-be-white T-shirt and underpants.
I threw on a grey sweater and sweatpants. I tied my hair in a ponytail and ran downstairs, due to the ringing bell that told me taht Zach was in front of the door.

"Oh my God, are you serious?" I was crying from laughter. "He actually said that? I'm so gonna blackmail him with this. This is golden." I was planning to revenge my brother for embarrassing me in front of my crush. It was years ago, but I do not forget easily.
"Yeah, he did. And then, he tripped over his feet and fell right in front of her."
Zach was explaining, what happened in the gym. To sum it up, my brother, Mason, is crushing on this girl, Amanda, and they both go to the gmy. Coincidentally, they were both there at the same time, so Mason tried to talk to her. He miserably failed and fell in front of here. Ah, I wish I was there.
"Let's do something."
"Like what?"
"Oh, I have some ideas." He said, with a smirk visible on his face.
No, he is not my boyfriend. He's my best friend. Sometimes, that's a good thing. And sometime, it's not. Funny enough, when we first met, we hated eachother. That was in first grade of elementary. It feels like a lifetime ago.

"Shut up!" I laughed out loud and threw a pillow at him.
"Make me." Oh, look. Another smirk.
"Get out." Still laughing.
"Did you know that your nose crinckles when you smile?"
I did. And I hated it. Other girls make it look cute. When it happened to me, I looked like a pig.
"Yeah, I know."

The front door opened. Mason walked in.
His eyes wided when he saw Zach. He must've relieved the 'accident'.
"Kate, mom and dad called. They said they aren't coming home for another week because there were some complications at work and they have to stay and fix it."
"Oh."
There was an awkward silence.
"Well, um, did you two ate anything earlier? I'm going to order pizza." He exited the room.
"I'm just gonna go call mom and ask if you can sleep over, if you want to."
"Yesss! We're gonna have so much fun." Aaaand, here comes the smirk.
