Birth of Unihorns

Long, long ago, unicorns did not have horns

Once, the goddess of animals decided to gift each species of animals with a special characteristic. The animals all gathered near a pond but the unicorns did not come because they were having a party.

The goddess of animals gave rabbit's short tails, giraffe's long necks, and elephant's large ears.

The goddess got angry because the unicorns did not come and punished them making thunder. The lightning struck on every unicorn's forehead, creating a horn.

When humans found out about these creatures, they decided to name them unihorns, for they had one, uni, horn. But over time, got changed to unicorns since it was hard to pronounce.
