Ever since the day Zuki and Taehyun set up that lemonade stand together-which was approximately a good twelve days ago, Zuki realised how impossibly difficult it was to sneak out of her house on a fine saturday. Perhaps it was the fact that her college would begin the semester next week, or how Felix turned out to be a snitch and complained to her mum about the lemonade stand being a total failure, or perhaps it was just that her normally homebody ass was way too fidgety these days, alerting her parents even more.

In any way and every way, it seemed like fate was trying to pull pranks on Zuki. Just when she had found her potential boyfriend, her parents just had to not let her go out at all while the desire to see Tarhyun only ever grew. He became the only constant thought in her tiny brain, engulfing her whole existence. Zuki would like to say, it was a crush but let's be real, a psychiatrist would jail her for the obsessive nature of her "crush".

It was something about his polite smile, a little to do with how his boba eyes would crinkle due to the said smile, and of course his ever witty remarks or roasts, never to forget how absolutely charming his personality was. Yes, she was absolutely swooning over him.

"Zuki! Felix is here to meet you! " Her mums voice rang up till her room, vibrating in her ears.

"Can you please send him up here mum?"
As if to respond to that, the next thing she heard were heavy footsteps progressing towards her door.

Thud!

"Greetings human trash."
Felix was all smiles and unimaginable energy as he slammed the door behind him. He invited himself to lay on Zuki's fluffy bed while she stared down at him from her desk's chair.

"Yes yes, greetings banana peel" Zuki scrunched her nose at his blonde hair. "I hope you do realise for a fact that the semester starts on Monday and you look like egg yolk."

She eyed him whole. His white hoodie, his platinum blonde hair and brown corduroy pants, not to forget his black and white socks with a snow flake pattern print. A fashion disaster, to say the least.

"Oh, woe is me. To have a blind tasteless friend who can't understand my aesthetics. Also, fuck school. "

Felix flashed an eye smile in her way as he jumped off her bed and wandered towards her desk, leaning back on the wall beside the table.

"It's still a relief that we got selected in the same college. I was worried we'd have to part ways. "

He said, now staring intensely at the page Zuki had been doodling on. It was scattered with eyes, sketches of hands, shaded boxes and more eyes.

At this, the girl pouted. Twirling in her chair, she rolled her eyes and slid down off the chair to stand in front of him, leaning on the chair.

"We only have like, two good colleges here. Obviously they'd let us join. "

Felix scoffed in return, nodding a bit as Zuki dragged her feet towards the bed after getting a pack of caramel popcorn from her drawers. She shook the bag, giving Felix a look with her eyebrows raised and a smirk displayed on her face. Felix imitated the expression, wiggling his eyebrows.

The next minute, they were sitting in silence on Zuki's bed, munching on popcorn as Felix connected his phone to Zuki's laptop. The two were now watching another episode of Black Clover, the only show the both of them liked.

You see Felix and Zuki, though friends, came from quite the opposite sides of the spectrum. They had their similarities too surely like being ostracized in high school, each for different reasons and the way they both had freckles littering their face like stars in the sky. Like how both of them enjoyed horror and loathed playing soccer. Despite having become friends only in their last year of high school, the bond between them was stronger than any Zuki had ever formed. They had gone through the spring break and most of the summer together and now as the season rolled on towards late Autumn, Zuki and Felix had each other to keep themselves warm. Theirs was a friendship against all seasons' harshness; against all odds. In short words, Zuki had scarce friends, hardly any and among them Felix was her best buddy. He was the lone pillar supporting her social life.

Thus, unsurprisingly, it had been a relief when Felix and herself reconciled from their fight two weeks ago. It had been a pretty serious argument this time and the topic had been whether Gulliver's Travel was truly a masterpiece or just shit someone came up with when high on crack. In this span of not talking with each other, she had been very excited to rant about her new crush to her only friend and Felix had been patient with her, nodding at her animated reactions and smiling between her sentences.

"I hate asta. This bitch can't ever talk properly. His every dialogue is just screams and screeches"

Felix laughed lightly at Zuki's commentary as she closed her eyes in disappointment. Thinking about it, he realised that asta was in fact, a very loud character.

"I agree, the balance kinda lacks between these two. It's too bland"

Felix said, nodding to what Zuki had said. He sank his hand in the bag of popcorn to fish out a palm full.

"By the way, you remember Taehyun right? "

Zuki popped some popcorn in her mouth and proceeded to munch on it, duplicating Felix's actions.

"You've been on about him for fourteen days, how can I forget him? "

It was Felix's turn to roll his eyes.

"Yo! Yongbok! Just shut the fuck up and listen, hmm? "

Zuki wrapped her arms around his neck.
Felix silently nodded, trying to escape the choke Zuki held him in now.

"Yes, please, go ahead. "

"I want him to be our classmate. I don't want to see anyone from my high school again and if they do see me, I want to be seen with Taehyun. "

"Is being seen with me not enough?"

Zuki was now facing him fully while his gaze remained focused on the laptop screen. His face displayed nothing except for intrigue as he started at the screen unlike Zuki who looked like she had stepped on her cat's tail. A thousand thoughts gushed through her mind, her eyes wide.

'Did I accidentally offend him? '

"I'm only kidding."

Felix too now stared back into her eyes. Although a soft smile peeked around the corners of his mouth, he didn't look like he was kidding at all. In fact, this was one of the few times when Zuki caught him looking serious. It scared her to think she had messed up her friendship with him again.

Perhaps Felix could feel her penetrating gaze or perhaps he had snapped back from whatever trance he was in because he quickly laughed and continued.

"I guess my point is, that you should be with him but only because you want to and like to be. Not because you think he is the lone option that can provide you safety. Be with him for the sake of him. Okay? "

"Okay."
