"You can't catch us!" giggles and laughter filled the air as two identical children ran around the forest being chased by a tall, young blonde-haired boy named Austin, their brother. While the three were enjoying their game of tag, at the edge of the forest lies a beautiful meadow.
The sky above the meadow was very appealing. It extended as far as the eye could see in a cocktail-blue sky punctuated by fluffy clouds. In a waltz of life and death, squeaking swallows chased whirling dragonflies. The center of the meadow was cut through by a neon-blue river ribbon.
Near the river, two women were preparing a small picnic. Unfolding the picnic blanket and placing it neatly under the shades of an oak tree. Unpacking various foods from the picnic basket, the two women began settling the food they bought into the picnic blanket. Different kinds of foods were laid in front of them. There was fruit salad, egg salad sandwiches, crispy fried chicken, sausage rolls, homemade apple pie, lemon iced tea, and tasty homemade red velvet cupcakes.
Satisfied with their work, the mother and daughter sat down, relaxing under the shades after preparing their picnic. Some time passed, and it was finally time to eat. "Sky dear, call your siblings over. I'm sure they're hungry from playing all day, especially that big brother of yours." Rosalinda, their mother, was chuckling while resting under the oak tree with her eyes closed.
''Sure thing Mom," Skyla said as she got up and went to the forest where her three siblings were playing. While walking toward the woods, she already heard laughter, thanks to her heightened hearing, so it was easy for her to find them.
"Hey guys, it's time to eat!" Skyla shouted, getting her siblings' attention before running back to the picnic area while sticking her tongue out to them. The three look at each other before pursuing their sister. The four dash to the picnic area where their mother is smiling and waiting for them.
All of them are enjoying their family picnic. Austin was making goofy faces as he attempted to prevent the sausage from falling off his nose. The twins were amused by their brothers' antics while Skyla was photographing her brother, making a fool of himself.
Rosalinda smiles as she watches her kids and realizes how fortunate she is to have such wonderful kids alongside her. She thinks back on all the trials and sacrifices she made in the past, but she doesn't regret a thing because she was fortunate enough to have such great treasures in her life.
Snapping out of her daze, she realized her children were watching her. Rosalinda couldn't help but laugh and joined her children's antics. Without a care in the world, the small family enjoyed their usual family picnic. Little did they know their peaceful life would slowly crumble as enemies from the past desired their kinds abilities.
