A not so normal day

Jay woke up to a knock on the door he stumbled out of bed and walked through his apartment when he got to the door he looked through the peep hole the see a young boy so he unlocked the door and opened it.
Can I help you jay asked.

Hey a dude outside paid me twenty dollars to give you this the boy said handing jay an envelope and then walked off.

Jay closed the door and opened the envelope to see a letter address to him.

I told you I would find you when I got out and if I can find you then I can find her too. P.s see you soon signed Alley killer.

Jay almost fell to the floor when he read this panic setting in memory's from the past coming to mind.

He ran to his room to grab his phone, gun and keys intelligence had  been working a long case and finally finished the paperwork around four in the morning. so when he got home he didn't even take off his shoes he just passed out on his bed now looking at the alarm he saw that it's now noon. He ran out of his apartment making sure to lock the door and set the alarm and got in his truck and drove off.

He arrived at Chicago med where will was pulling a double and ran inside.

Hey jay what's the rush Maggie asked.

I need to see will where's he at jay said.

Just when Maggie was about to say something else will walked around the corner seeing will jay ran up to his and grabbed his arm pulling him into the hospital break room.

Hey what gives man I'm working is something wrong he asked as soon as he saw the look on jays face all jay did was hand him the letter as will read it he slowly collapsed onto the couch face white as a ghost.

Maybe it's just someone messing with us I mean isn't he still in prison will said.

I don't know but I plan on finding out but you need to be careful I don't know what his plan is but if he is out then it can't be good jay said.

Just as jay is about to leave will gets up and grabs his arm hey I'll be careful but you need to be extra careful I'm not the one that almost died and I'm not the one that testified against him.

Jay just nodded his head and walked out he drove to the precinct he ran upstairs and found and went straight to mouse.

Aren't u supposed to be at home sleeping mouse joked as jay grabbed his arm pulling him into the break room and closing the door

I got a letter addressed to me from alley killer jay says.

Wait what I thought he got life mouse said.

He got twenty five to life and well it's been twenty five years I need you to look into it and make sure it's him because I'm hoping it's someone just trying to scare me into thinking he's out with the anniversary being yesterday it could be one of his old friends it's happened before jay said.

Ok I will in the meantime you need to tell voight so he knows what's going on because if he is out and he meets up with his friends from back in the day then you could be a target mouse said.

And with that jay walked out the bullpen was empty do to everyone being at home even voight wasn't in his office. Jay walked downstairs waving to platt and going outside to get in his truck. When he got inside his apartment building he got to the door to find it unlocked and ajar he pulled out his gun slowly walking inside he finds his apartment torn apart the alarm going off meaning the cops are on there way. He walks from room to room slowly clearing each one by the time he gets finished he can hear a soft knock on the door he walks to the door and opens it to be see officer Burgess and her partner.

Hey jay we're responding to a triggered alarm I didn't know it was your apartment though geez looks like a mess what happened here were you robbed burgess asked.

Something like that I just got here the door was open and my alarm was going off and I know I locked the door before I left I already clear the apartment there's no one here jay said.

Ok well we still gotta do a sweep and the we can write up our report and catalogue anything that might be missing burgess said. Jay nodded and stepped aside so they could walk in and do there sweep of the place.

Meanwhile at the district
Voight walks in the precinct with Erin beside him.
Hey voight it's might just be a coincidence but I just sent Burgess to respond to a triggered alarm and detective Halstead apartment building platt said just as mouse came running down the stairs.

Woh hold up wanna give me the finer details about Halstead's situation voight said.

Oh I'm surprised he told you anything without me telling him what I found first mouse

Ok let's go they go outside and get in voights SUV actually I haven't heard anything from halstead at all today but platt said burgess was responding to a triggered alarm in halsteads apartment building and then you came running down the stairs so care to fill me in here what's going on.

Shit well the cats already out of the bag jay received a letter from someone that he put in prison saying that they were out and they found him he came to me to see if they were actually out or if it was just someone messing with him trying to scare him because the anniversary was yesterday I have no idea about the alarm going off but I can say I just confirmed that the man has been released mouse said.

Oh jays gonna kick my ass either of you ever hear of the alley killer mouse asked Erin shook her head no then voight said yea him and his friends would wait in alleys for teenagers coming out of the theaters and attack them they would rob them beat the guys and if there was a girl with them they would beat and rape them in front of the guys kill the boy and leave the girls bloody and beat only one of them got caught because they messed up and left a kid alive that identified one and testified but he could only identify one of them there were three total but that was way before halstead was a cop that was what twenty five years ago he would have been what fifteen.

Yea fifteen and loved going to the theater jay is the witness that survived and testified against him mouse said.
