"I'll pick you up in 10" I said dully into the phone before i hung up. I decided i should probably get ready. 'In all honesty i really did not want to go on this date' i thought while pulling a black nirvana shirt over my head. I did not even listen to nirvana but my girlfriend Naomi got it for me. It was now 10:05 and i told Naomi i would get her 5 minutes ago. Before i left i grabbed my coat, and made my way to my truck. Once i picked her up and we got to the pub. When we got in they put a big black 'X' On out hand to show we were under 21. We sat down at a small table in the back, while Naomi took out a small bottle of baby oil out of her purse, and rubbed the 'X' off. there were a lot more people there than i expected.
'The band should come on stage in a few' I thought it was almost 10:45. Not long after 3 people that looked to be about my age came on stage. "Hey everyone thanks for coming we are Bring Me the Bananas" The girl said walking on to the stage. "That's a fucking stupid name" Naomi said taking a sip of what ever alcohol she had gotten. I just nodded in response. The girl on stage grabbed her bass and stood in the middle of the stage right behind microphone. After about a few seconds the bass started. The first 10 seconds were only bass then the girl started singing.
"Watch me, make you..... Let me, take you" Then the rest of the instruments started playing. "Follow down, I will penetrate you baby Run you to the ground I will make you hate you baby" Then the Blonde boy sang along with the girl "I'm an eater, I'm an eater, I'm an eater" Then just the drums and bass played and the girl sang again. "Your cheeks are red and rosy I'll keep you safe and sound I'll keep you warm and cozy Fatten you up to wolf you down" Then the two sang again 'i'm an eater, I'm an eater, I'm an eater" Then the girl sang "And there's one thing that I know is true I'll just make a meal of you I'll leave the bones and hair to rot I don't really care a lot" The the guitarist played a solo. The the girl sang "Follow down I will penetrate you baby Run you into the ground I will make you hate you baby" While the boy sang "Watch me, make you" "Let me, take you" Then the two sang together again one last time before the song ended "I'm an eater, I'm an eater, I'm an eater"
After they played that song They played a few more they wrote. "They are pretty good" I stated. "Yeah they aren't bad" Naomi said. Then they played a song they wrote called 'Telephone Calls'. I pulled out my phone and started recording while the girl sang "Television ringin' in my ear I've been thinkin' Haven't had a break in 16 years I've been drinkin'" Then all the instruments stopped and the bassist played a solo. Then i stopped recording and posted it to my story making sure to tag them. After that song the concluded there show and started to walked off stage.
When a guy walked up to the stage and stole the bassists guitar and ran out of the bar. The girl chased after him, and i followed shortly after. When the guy saw us he threw the bass to the ground and took off down an alleyway. I picked it up and handed it to her. It was a black musicman stingray bass with a big glittery lucky kitty on it. "Thanks" She said awkwardly and grabbed it from my hands. There was an awkward silence as we walked back to the pub. "Hey i just wanted to say thanks again for chasing him down with me i doubt he would have left it if he just saw me running behind him." She said "Why do you say that?" i asked She did not answer for a few seconds trying to figure out the right thing to say. "Oh you know i just cant run far with these" She said pointing to her shoes. She wore big black platform boots. "It's really no problem" i said as we walked back into the bar.
Naomi walked up to me shit faced, she was stumbling around and her top was falling off. I put my coat over her and tried to leave but she did not want to she dragged me over to this boy she was talking to. He looked stoned out of his mind. "Hey" he said laughing. I Just smiled awkwardly watching the two poke and mess with each other. Not long after a girl walked out from backstage and left with the boy. I turned to Naomi and told her we had to leave. Once we walked out i forgot where we parked. Once i spotted it i turned around to see Naomi asleep leaning against a light post. I went over to grab her but she kept squirming in her sleep. "You having trouble" The girl from before asked appearing from the alleyway. "A bit" I responded. She put her cigarette out on the wall and walked over to help me without responding.
We both grabbed onto her and walked to my car. Once we got her to to the car i said "Thanks, it would of taken a lot longer without your help" "No problem" She said walking away. I turned to se Naomi still sleeping in my passenger seat.
