Losing all hope, Sidney dropped her head on to Brax's chest and started crying. That's when she felt dizzy like the world was spinning. She got nauseous and grabbed onto Brax as hard as she could trying to make it stop. After what seemed like minutes of dizziness it suddenly stopped.
She looked up and was blinded by the bright light of a street sign. As she looked around she noticed that she was not in the same place she was just minutes ago. Still clutching onto Brax, she spotted the big red sign of the hospital. Relieved, she lifted Brax by his shoulders and dragged him over to the emergency room doors.
"Help! Someone help me!" Yelled Sidey still dragging him into the room.
One of the doctors ran over to me, picked Brax up and laid him on one of the hospital beds.
"What happened!" the doctor asked, giving Braxton an exam."We were walking down the street and these people started attacking us and my brother jumped in front of me. They started to beat him up pretty bad, but I scared them away with my pocket life." Sidney lied. She was always good at lying and making things up quickly.
"Ok, um, good idea of making a tourniquet, or your brother would have bleed out." the man said to Sidney.
"Here, that doctor over there will take you to the waiting room...""No. I want to stay with my brother!" Sidney demanded almost yelling at the doctor. She still had tears running down her face, and an exhausted look in her eyes.
All of a sudden, Sidney felt so tired and weak that she blacked out falling to the ground.
Sidney woke up in a hospital room next to her brother. He was laying in a hospital bed still passed out, probably from the drugs the doctor gave him.A knock on the door startled her, as she turned around to see who was there.
"Oh good you're awake." The nurse said. "I was just coming to check on you guys.
"Is my brother going to be okay?" Sidney asked the nurse.
"Yes sweetie, he will be fine, we just had to repair his arm but we are very certain he should get full function back." The nurse assured Sidney.
"Here, why don't you stay here when your brother wakes up and I'll go get you something to eat." She told Sidney.
Sidney nodded, turning back to look at her brother. The nurse left and shut the door behind her.
"Hey, Sid." Mumbled a groggy Braxton.
"Hey, Brax. How are you feeling?" She asked him walking over to his bed, sitting next to him.
"Other than my arm killing me I think I'm okay." He said rubbing his eyes.
"Um... So do you remember what happened back there at th..." Sidney tried to ask Brax, when she was interrupted by another knock on the door. Sidney and Braxton both turned in the direction of the door that creaked open.
"Hey kids your father is here." A man's voice said as he walked into the dimly lit room.
The twins looked at each other confused, as a tall man in a nice suit walked into the room. He walked into the room and closed the door behind him.
"There you guys are, I've been worried sick about you!" the man said fairly loudly. The twins still looked confused as this man was a total stranger and not their adopted dad.
"Ok, I think they are gone." the man said as he sat down in a chair and looked at them. Sidney was about to say something but was interrupted by the man.
"Before you say anything," he said, removing his hat and placing it on his lap. "I know I'm not your dad, but I am here to help you."
"What do you mean help us?" Sidney asked as the anger was starting to build up inside of her.
"For starters, I know what happened at the graveyard last night." The man said confidently. "We have been keeping a close eye on you two ever since the accident when you were younger."
"Wait, wait, wait. Who are you and how do you know so much about us?" Sidney asked, more angry than before.
"See after your parents died, we looked more into you two and how you survived that car crash. The statistical probability that you guys would have survived is less than 1 percent." he explained to them. "So we had decided to keep tabs on you, and so far we didn't have any concern whether you were "the type" we were looking for until tonight."
"Ok, so I had a few questions." Brax asked the man. "My first question is: What is your name? My second is: Who is this "we" you are talking about? And lastly: What is "the type"?
