"Is any in this room Braley's significant other?" The nurse asked as she looked around the room
"Jj that's you." JB whispered in his ear
"oh.I am" Jj said easing his hand
"Alright. She needs to stay out of water for 3 days. And she needs to avoid any dangerous or risky activity." The nurse replied
"Yes mam." He replied
"Do you all live together?" The nurse asked
"yea pretty much. We are best friends. And John b is her brother." Pope replied
"then all of you need to work together to try to help your friend here. Because she helped you." The nurse smiled looking at Kie
"thank you mam." John b replied
"whenever she wakes up y'all are free to go. Just follow the instructions that I just said." She said leaving the room
"should we wake her up?" John b asked
"uh I don't really know." Jj replied
"Jj" Braley said waking up
"yes" he said rushing to her side
"get me the hell out of here." She replied
"ok we can leave whenever you want."
"I want to now." She said standing up in the hospital gown
"I'll get changed and meet you guys outside." B said
"you can't do all that stuff alone b." Sarah replied
"then Jj will stay with me."
"I guess im staying with her. I'll meet you guys outside in 10." He said back to the group as they walked out of the hospital room.
"I love you." Jj said as he helped her get dressed

"I don't think you know how much I love you." Jj replied
"I love you more than you'll ever know." B said
"seeing you like that ruined me." He said tearing up
"like what?" She replied
"on the ground with blood coming out of your mouth." He said
"I'm sorry that you saw me like that. But I'm glad it happened to me and not kie."
"you shouldn't be sorry. You saved our best friends life. But it could have ended way worse." Jj said helping b put her shirt on.
"I just want to surf." B said as they walked out of the hospital
"you can't for a week." Pope replied
"a week!" B replied
"yes and your going to wait." JB said
"we will see about that...." She whispered
"Braley ocean Rutledge. You are going to wait." Jj replied

as they drove back into the cut there where welcome "home signs" and "hero" signs everywhere with Braley's name on them. Kies parents and Hayward put them up.
"This is not necessary." B said looking out the window
"yea it is b." Kie said holding her hand
"I don't think this happens to everyone who gets shot" b replied
"you didn't just get shot. You saved my life. You know. I wouldn't be able to live through a bullet. Or I wouldn't be able to go through that surgery. My body ist strong and you know it." Kie replied with a smile
"Why is there 5 cars here?" Pope said pulling into the chateau.
"that's my moms car and that's your dads truck. That's Shoupes and peterkins cop car and that's toppers jeep." Kie said looking out the window.
"Cops?" B said
"B you know that peterkin and Shoupe are like our parents." JB said helping his sister get out of the Twinkie
"yea I kno-" b got cut off by all of the people
"surprise!" They all yelled cussing b to get scared and fall. Jj caught her before she hit anything
"easy there." Jj said as he picked b up and brought her inside
" hey guys." B said as Jj put her down
"glad to see your ok!" Peterkin said giving b a hug
"Hey shoupe!" B said hugging him
"hi topp." B said giving him a hug too
"Braley!" Kies mom said walking out of the kitchen

"we can't thank you enough for what you did for our baby." Kies mom said crying
" we owe you the wold." Kies dad said
"she's my best friend. I'll do it 70 more times if I had to." B replied
"God I wish I found a friend like you in middle school." Kies mom said with a smile
"mom your going to ruin your makeup." Kie said grabbing b and sitting her on the couch
"babe?" Jj said sitting by b who was starting to cry
"Yea?" B said whipping her eyes like nothing happened
"What's wrong? Do you not feel good?" Jj asked
"no I'm ok." B said smiling at Jj as a tear came down her face

"yea. I just saw a tear coke down your face. You can talk to me." Jj said
"I will just not right now." B said as she got up from the couch
"D.C.S  open up." A man said shouting
"relax JB we got it." Shoupe said as him and peterkin walked to the door
"Mr and Mrs carrera. Do you agree to be John boucker Rutledge and Braley ocean Rutledge's full time legal guardian?" Shoupe asked with a smile.
"yes." They both said smiling
"Braley , John. Meet your new legal guardians !" Peterkin said
"your joking." B said with a smile
"no more running?" JB asked
"no more running!" Shoupe said
"your last name is still the same nothing really changes except for no more dcs." Peterkin said
"Thank you so much" b said
"I get to stay with my sister and I don't have to leave my friends?" JB asked
"yes you stay with your sister and yes you stay with your friends." Peterkin replied
"thank you guys so much." B and JB said hugging Mr and Mrs Carrera
After everyone left the chateau pope and John b lit a fire that they all sat around.
"Where did you get shot at? I didn't even see?" Topper asked
"basically under her boob." Kie said
"oh." He replied
"it glazed my arm too. I can't move my left arm more than an inch. And I can't move my right arm because of the surgery." B replied
"How will you clean it?" Pope asked
"Kie , Sarah or Jj." She replied
"You show them yo-" Jj said getting cut off
"yes Jj. We have all seen each others Breasts. Get over it." Kie said
"I'm tired. Goodnight guys." B said as she

"to put medicine on my bullet hole."
"You can't do that by yourself it will hurt your arms." Jj said
"I was just going to ask Sarah when she came inside to get a beer." She replied
"why can't I help you?" He asked
"you can but last time you tried to help me with something like this it ended with more wounds than it started with." B replied
"I know I'm sorry but just let me help you." Jj insisted
"You make me nervous when you help me so be careful." B said as Jj grabbed the medication

"I've seen every inch of your body. How could I make you nervous" Jj asked
"Idk you just do sometimes."she replied
"just hold still." Jj said as me poured the medicine on b
"J OW. I THINK THATS ENOUGH!" B yelled from the pain
"baby I only put a tiny drop on. And it was barley on the spot." Jj said holding her hand
"Jj please can that just be it. Please it hurts really bad." B said as a tear came down her face
" no honey you need to make sure it's clean. I know it hurts. Your so strong." He said pouring more of the medicine on the area of her stitches.
"J- J." B said gasping for air because it was hard to breathe from the pain
"b it's ok. It's ok. Your ok." Jj said kissing her forehead
"one more drop and that's it." Jj said
"no it's going to get in the worst spot." B said
"I know it will be over quick. Just lay down and take a breath." Jj said as he held bs hand
"PLEASE J- J STOP. OH MY GOD IT HURTS SO BAD" b cried
"It's over with. Your done babe." Jj said whipping her tears off her face
"you good?" Jj asked as they laid down together and watched a movie
"yea. Just sore" she replied
" you sure?" He asked

"Today on the couch I saw you crying and you said you would tell me later why you where sad." Jj said as he rapped is arm around her and laid down
"I was just sad because everyone was being so nice." B lied
"no that's not why. Just tell me." Jj says
"i wanted my dad to be there. By my side in the hospital. There to defend me at midsummer's.." b said crying a little
"I know it's hard. But you know he's out there. We are going to find him." Jj said hugging her tighter
