Ronnie's P.O.V

"Ronnie it's seven!" I heard my mother yell. That is how it has been most days. I set my alarm for six-thirty, but simply turn it off because I know my mom will always call up at the same time regardless of if I am up or not. I slowly get out of bed and open up my curtains to see what weather is in store for me. Normally here in Birch-wood, Alaska it was raining, however today it was surprisingly super sunny.

"I feel like dressing up today" I happily said to my tired looking reflection. Almost all my clothes have some kind of purple associated with them due to the fact that it is my all time favorite color so I grabbed the first dark purple thing I saw in my closet which happened to be a long flowing skirt and decided on wearing a white lace shirt with it. After quickly putting on my normal make-up, and doing my hair up nicely in a braided bun I finally checked my phone. My inbox was loaded. Most of the messages were invites to parties, and some were from random guys asking me out. Finally I found the person I wanted. "Daisy!" I squealed. She has always been my best friend, and even so every time I see her or get a message I feel like a little girl getting her first friend. I texted her telling her that I would be dressing up today. I always told her when I was going to do such a thing because she always dressed up with me.

After getting ready I had to run to school. It was never a long run because I only lived two blocks away. Because of the short distance I have never felt the need to learn how to drive; making me one of what seems to be the only senior without my own ride. When I got to school I was greeted by my very big following of people who all wanted to say 'hi'to me, and once Daisy arrived we made our way through the halls into my first classroom.

My town is so small that we barely get new students, however for the second time today I was pleasantly surprised.

"Yay new friends!" Daisy, and I said almost simultaneously. I was half-way being sarcastic, but at the same time was actually curious to know if the new person would be in my group. It took a long time, and a lot of students throwing things before teacher and new student arrived through the doors causing everyone to pause and size them up.

"Oh" was my first reaction to the new kid. He had long black hair that covered up most of his face and dark clothes to match.

"Another gothic, emo, punk" my friend muttered rather loudly causing most of the class to laugh; unfortunately me included.

"Everyone I will not tolerate cruel language in this class!" the teacher shouted.

Suddenly the new kid did something that shocked us all... he started laughing as well. "What is so funny Zachery?" the teacher demanded.

'Zachery' stopped laughing for a second and pointed to us while quietly saying "I knew I was gonna hate you guys"

Everybody in the room stopped laughing then and the teacher announced his name formally then told him to have a seat. Once the lesson started I tried my hardest to pay attention, but found my thoughts wandering to Zachery. I noticed most of the class kept glancing his direction as well.

"He seems interesting" I whispered to Daisy. She just grunted in response. While completely ignoring the lecture I found myself thinking that I may finally have someone here that is somewhat interesting. I also found his melodious laugh echoing through my thoughts. 'maybe just maybe I might finally like someone' I thought while smirking to myself.
