To Ms. Bae Nari,
We sincerely thank you for accepting our offer! We are sure that this will be a most advantageous opportunity for both you and us.
We would like to set up a meeting at a time and location that works best for you, sometime this week. Even if that day is today, we are willing to accommodate your schedule.
We look forward to your response.
Thank you.
The response email came quicker than Nari thought. Her eyes widened at them suggesting to meet today. The staff must be in a rush to get this whole episode started and finished.
She had just popped a batch of croissants into the oven, as the bakery was about to open in an hour. Contemplating what to do for a little, she decided that sooner was better than later. Pulling out her phone, she sent an email saying that if today works for them, they could meet at 8pm. She also suggested that if they believe it is safe, they can meet at La Fleur as she can close the bakery while the meeting proceeds. It's not like there would be customers with it open, she thought.
Their response to this email came almost instantly, making Nari wonder if some poor staff member was sitting there continuously refreshing their inbox. They said that 8pm was perfect, and the show director and PD would be arriving.
Nari still felt like she hadn't processed that this was all actually happening. After thinking about it most of last night, she concluded that this was probably a less popular idol group as her bakery was barely famous. Surely, a top name in the idol industry would choose a top bakery to film a shoot, right?
The oven dinged, bringing her out from her thoughts. She grabbed the tray, and set it down on the countertop to cool down.

Just like they said, two people wearing masks stepped in right at 8pm. Nari initially thought they were customers, until they introduced themselves.
"Are you Bae Nari-ssi? We're the director and PD who contacted you." They said, bowing.
Nari bowed back. "Yes, yes, that's me. Give me one minute, I'll lock up the store and we can talk. Please, make yourselves comfortable in the meantime." She said, gesturing for them to sit. They bowed again, and sat at the table that was tucked away from the front store windows.
They took their masks off as Nari came to join them after locking the front door. The woman broke the silence first by introducing herself as Lee Eun-song, the PD of the show, and the man introduced himself as director Kim Hyun-seok. They both looked to be in their 30s, and Nari could tell just by looking that they were kind people who took their job seriously. Any doubts she had of this situation being a scam, instantly disappeared.
Nari again, stood up and bowed. "It's nice to meet you both! Again, I'm Bae Nari, and I wanted to thank you again for choosing me and this bakery to film your episode."
They warmly smiled at her. "Let us thank you for accepting our offer, Nari-ssi. We also wanted to apologise if the email came off as cold and suspicious." Eun-song PD explained. "We always have to send initial emails like that to protect the safety of the company as well as the idols, in case the email ends up in the wrong hands."
Nari quickly waved her hands, indicating that it was no problem at all. "No, I completely understand! I have a friend who works with celebrities as well, and she reassured me that the email was completely normal."
They smiled again, bowing their heads in thanks. "Now that we got all the formalities out of the way, should we begin discussing the content details?" The director suggested. Nari nodded, and he went on. "So we still can't reveal the name of the show or the idol group due to their company's policy. But we have been filming a variety show with this group since 2019, doing various types of content."
