Kait's POV:
Isn't it so weird how different everyone treats you based on the way you look. It's all bullshit.
I was insecure about the way I looked up until 2 years ago when I decided to make a change. I was chubby and had eyebags, acne, a double chin, and many other things I didn't like. I just kept eating because it comforted me, but it wasn't good. So, I made a change. And, here I am! 2 years later with an hourglass figure and clear skin. The choices I made led me to a better body and lifestyle. But that doesn't mean everything was well.
I woke up to my alarm. "Ugh." I yawned as I woke up. "Great high school starts today, just what I needed." I mumbled. I headed to the bathroom to shower, brush my teeth, and do my skincare. I had the perfect outfit ready for my first day.
It was a short white crop top and a pair of black shorts that i was longing to wear. I headed to my room to do my make up and made my way downstairs for breakfast. "Shit." I thought to myself.
My brother was there staring at me looking concerned. "You are NOT wearing that to school." He demanded.
"Leo, you can't tell me what to do just because you're my brother." I yelled back.
"Can you two calm down and have some breakfast please?" mom said.
"Fine, but if you're gonna wear that, take my hoodie, I don't want weirdos staring at you. Especially my friends." he threw the hoodie as he said that. Leo had always been protective of me so it wasn't anything new to me.
Mom drove us to school and I waved her bye as I was walking backwards. I hit something hard, I turned around to see I hit Liam's chest. God I can't believe I never noticed how attractive and tall he was.
"Wait what?! Snap out of it Kaitlin! You know that it's wrong and he's your brother's best friend."
"Watch where you're going Kaitlin." He said in his raspy, deep voice.
"Well, hello to you too." I yelled as he walked away. Where the fuck was Leo. I walked into homeroom. It was empty except for one very familiar person.
"OMGG OLIVER!?" I screamed as I saw his familiar face. I ran into his arms and gave him a tight hug.
"I missed you sooo much!!!" he said as he gazed into my eyes.
"Whaaaaaat!!" I teased him
"You...you look amazing. Just like you always were, love." He whispered into my ear. I blushed, but then snapped out of it. He was my best friend. We couldn't be anything more.
" don't call me that, haha." I told him as I laughed everything off nervously.
"Anything for you, love." He said back in a sweet tone. Why was he doing that? He never talked to me like that back when I looked different. Was he treating me this way because of the way I look now? I was so distracted that I didn't notice Oliver brushing my hair behind my ear.
"You okay love?" He asked me.
That's when my brother and Liam entered the room with my lunch.
