I began to walk forward, swinging my bag in my hand, when Jason caught my shoulder. He spun me around until I was once again facing the blue door. I stared up at him like he was crazy, but he seemed to take no notice of it. He simply urged me toward the door without a word. The darkness behind me seemed to crawl under my skin, trying to take hold of me. It manifested as white noise in my ears as Jason opened the door again.

Where my room once was, I saw a room covered wall to wall in shelving. Dolls and toys were placed neatly on them, I heard an eery groan as I walked into the room. I felt a chill go up my spine, watching the toys warily. I felt Jason's eyes on me as I took it all in. There were tools strewn across a table in the center of the room.

"I have to get something," Jason said, sounding a bit excited "and then we'll go home.

I felt little hands plant themselves on my shoulder, and Ebony crawled from him to me. "Isn't it pretty, mama?" I heard a muffled voice in my ear.

I jumped, restraining myself from swatting her from my shoulder.

"Did you just-" I glanced at her, meeting her blue eyes, "are you...?". Her expression didn't shift, but I heard the voice again.

"Father gives me the life I need, the music his heart makes wakes us all."

I stared at her, wide-eyed as I tried to make sense of the riddle. "What are you talking about?" I asked her. I was met with silence.

Jason roundes the corner then, arms full of half-finished toys and a smile on his face.

"what's all that?" I asked quietly, refusing to keep my eyes off him as he walked to the door. He continually shifted the pile in his arms, tucking his unsteady balancing act under his chin as he removed one hand and reached for the door.

"It's only a few things I need to work on" he informed me, jumping as the pile began to tilt.

"Ok-" I said, watching him "Um, I can... get that for you... if you need" I offered, setting my bag down.

"No!" Jason snapped, rebalancing his pile and grabbing the knob, "You can't, it won't understand if you do it".

I stared at him in confusion as he opened the blue door slowly. Again, It opened into the black room. I could hear the white noise fill my ears as I stepped out ahead of him. I stopped and wait as he closed it once more, and waited a moment.

"It'll have to find it first," Jason said, "We'll have to wait, the mansion is very well hidden".

"Find it?" I repeated, baffled as he shifted his load again "What mansion? Where are you taking me?"

Jason sighed and glanced at me. "You ask so many questions," He said "It's much easier when you don't. Would you not prefer blissful ignorance to whatever burdens come with knowledge? Human minds just aren't supposed to comprehend some things, you know". The white noise buzzed louder, as if it agreed with him.

My frustration and fear began to blend into a new, mind-numbing emotion. I groaned and threw my things down.

"Why are you being so fucking cryptic?!" I shout "You pop up out of nowhere, take me from my dad and my friends, and stick it to my education! You drag me through some creepy teleportation door into this freaky noise room, and when I do anything but go with it like this is completely ok you tell me I wouldn't understand?" The fog in my brain closes over me, and I feel my eyes start to water, "You have to meet me halfway here, ok? I came with you to keep my dad safe, I haven't freaked out over the shape-shifting or talking dolls or weird fucking buzzing rooms. I just want you to-". He cuts me off.

"Be quiet" he hissed "please". He tacked that on at the end, presumably to ease me out of my tirade. "You will survive this and learn to live happily in the situation I have brought you to, I assure you. You needn't be so loud or fuss so much".
