The butterflies in my stomach started at the sound of the organ. I started to flush and pick at the flowers in my hands. Biting on my lip nervously I look to my friend Tabitha. She seemed to read the look I gave her.
"Calm down girlie. He loves you. If he didn't love you he wouldn't have proposed and you wouldn't have said yes if you didn't. I bet you 100 dollars that he can't wait to see you walk down that aisle."
Nodding my head I looked ahead as the doors opened and my father took hold of my arm, tears glistening it is eyes.
"My baby girl is all grown up. Take care of yourself Smurfette." He said using my nickname he gave me when I was 13. I watched the smurfs a lot. Sue me.
As the people in front of me started to move forward I became more scared than I have ever been before. Finally I took that one step that would lead me to the happiest time of my life. As I started walking down the aisle I looked to the right and there at the altar stood my one true love. The one who I said yes to. The one who I wanted to spend every waking moment with. The one whose arms I wanted to follow sleep in at night and wake up to every morning. The one who I wanted to take care of me. The one who I would always take care of. The only one who I wouldn't think twice about dying for.
As I reach the end of the aisle I gazed into his eyes. His greenish-blue eyes met my solid grey stare.
I looked back at my father. He smiled at me sadly. Like he was losing his baby, and in a way he was, but I will always need him.
I looked back at my fiancé, taking his hand. Sparks shot through my body, my hand burning from him contact. And then we just a stared. Getting lost in each other's eyes. It was almost like my soul is swimming in the beautiful hues of green and blue.
All of a sudden I hear him speak the words "I do".
Tears begin to form in my eyes. He really does love me I thought to myself. Before I knew it I was speaking those two words that would change my life to him.
"I do..." I whispered softly. One lone tear streamed down my face. He reached up to my face and gently wiped it away. I've never been more happy in my life than this moment. This moment is when I became one with him. This was the moment that I started a new life. I was no longer that silly girl who dreamed of a better life. I was that girl with a better life. As we slipped on each other's rings I could feel his happiness. And finally just like old times, we sealed the deal with a kiss. Before you pulled away completely he whispered into my ear.
"You are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Thank you for being mine."
We grabbed each others hands holding tight onto each other for this new journey we were about to go on together and walk down the aisle to our futures.
