Tommy pov

I put in some earbuds and just listened to music while waiting. One song in particular came on and I started to listen to it...

(Song is here if you want to listen to it while reading)

My new address is hard to remember
So I wrote it on the back of my hand
'Cause I leave the nest, this coming December
To make it as a grown man
I'm 'bout to lose my only defenders
I'm packing up whatever I can

Wonder what song this is?

I pause the song and look at the name. It says, 'Don't Throw Out My Legos' by: AJR. The song sounds good so I push play and continue to listen to it while looking out the window of the train.

Been waiting for today, but
All I can think to say is
Oh no, don't throw out my legos
What if I can't let go? What if I come back home, back home?
Oh no, don't throw out my legos
What if I can't let go? What if I come back home, back home?

Can we keep my legos at home?
'Cause I wanna move out, I don't wanna move on

I think about my parents and my home and all the things I left behind. All the special things and all the memories just gone. I really want to turn back time and be where I was before I got kicked out.

People want shirts with the band name on it
And suddenly we ain't so bad
Saved up enough to rent an apartment
But far away from mom and dad
My Christmas card looks like a mugshot
'Cause suddenly I'm getting sad
Been waiting for today, but
All I can think to say is

Oh no, don't throw out my legos
What if I can't let go? What if I come back home, back home?
Oh no, don't throw out my legos
What if I can't let go? What if I come back home, back home?

Can we keep my legos at home?
'Cause I wanna move out, I don't wanna move on
Can we keep my legos at home?
'Cause I wanna move out, I don't wanna move on

It's cold out there, you're standing there
You're trying to face your greatest fear
You're shivering, you're trembling
It's warm in here, so come back in

Oh no, don't throw out my legos
What if I can't let go? What if I come back home, back home?
Oh no, don't throw out my legos
What if I can't let go? What if I come back home, back home?
Oh no, don't throw out my legos
What if I can't let go? What if I come back home, back home?
Oh no, I'll come by when I'm gone
It won't feel the same though, I can't even go home, go home

Before I know it, I feel a tear rolling down my cheek and I stop the song.

Big man Tommy dosent cry about some small thing like that- right? Getting kicked out isn't something to cry about..... I'm just getting in my head.

I turn on a different playlist and continued listening to music for the rest of the train ride.
