We open up upon a house, where a boy is playing punk rock music in the bathroom. Here, we meet our first character, Kal, brushing his hair, getting for the school day. He gets a knock on the door, a girl's voice is heard. "Kal, get your ass out here. I need you now." The girl said. Kal responds, "Alright, alright, don't get your pigtails in a twist, Maya." He turns off the music and looks in the mirror, his eyes appear a different purple-like color. At first, he's mesmerized, then he says, "That was weird, oh well, bet it's nothing."
He heads into the living room where Maya is found getting ready. Kal says, "Alright Maya, what's so important that my 11 year old sister has to riot at me?" Maya reached into her backpack and pulls out a drawing, she hands it to Kal and he says, "Whats this?" "Last week, our teacher told us to draw a picture of us with someone we admire or look up to." Maya said. Kal replies, "But this is just a picture of you and me." "Exactly." Maya replied. Kal smiles and gives Maya a big hug as she says, "Love you bro." He puts her down and says, "Love you too, kid." They grab their stuff and head out the door. Maya says, "Why don't we just take your car?" Kal replies, "Have you seen gas prices nowadays? I ain't driving us in what actually was dads car, just to pay $4.75 a gallon." They head to his Moped scooter, Kal has her sit behind them and hold on tight. She says, "Kal, do you ever wander if there's something out there, something beyond our imagination?" Kal turns the scooter on and and says, "Always." They head off the driveway and cast off down the street.
