We walked into the kitchen, and it was a big kitchen. Who knew a guy like him would cook? I glanced around it, thinking who would ever use everything in it. He went straight to the fridge and pantry. He took some stuff out, then turned towards me.

He has amazing abs.

He smirked at me then spoke. "Do you like pancakes?"

"I prefer waffles," I replied, looking down at my jeans. I had slept in jeans, which is the most uncomfortable thing in the universe.

"Alrighty, then."

He froze for a second, tensing up. I gasped.

"Oh my god, what happened?" I said, standing there like an idiot.

He had two scars on his back like an upside down V. The scar was barely visible, but since he froze, I could see them clearly.

"The scars are where my wings use to be," he said in a low voice.

"Wings? You don't have your wings?" I asked confused.

"No."

He turned back around and I guessed he wasn't ready to talk about that yet. I still had millions of questions, on the other hand. I just stood there, looking at him, making breakfast. He looked stunning. Could guys even look stunning Maeven?

Yes they could.

Well, guy Angels could.

"You're beautiful," I mumbled.

Fuck of fucks.

He looked at me, amused, and I turned around. My face felt so hot. I shook away the thought, glad he didn't say anything.

"Waffles are done, angel face," he smiled.

"Thanks," I smiled back.

We sat there on the island eating in silence. I felt awkward at first, but then it went away. I could feel his eyes on me, but I tried not to pay attention. The waffles were amazing, I'll tell you that.

"They're so good," I told him. Taking another bite.

"I know," he smirked.

"You're so cocky."

"Nahh."

We washed and put the dishes away in another silence. I wanted to ask him about last night, but I was scared. Being that close to him made me feel scared. But then at the same time, safe. I couldn't tell which one.

2:22 p.m

After we washed the dishes, I told him I needed to go home. He said we still needed to talk and he was right. I was in the shower now, letting the water just drip down my face. I wanted to stay in there forever. I didn't want to face the world. Maybe two worlds now, that I discovered Angels existence .

Getting out the shower, I put on some black skinny jeans and a flannel. I put my worn out converse and went to my room. My dad was no where to be seen. Probably out somewhere making ridiculous bets. I laid on my bed.

"I need to find a job," I said, to no one in particular, finally remembering that I don't have a job anymore.

I shivered.

"You don't need to."

I jumped out of bed, startled at the sound of his voice being so close. My elbow broke my fall, but sharp pain shot up to my shoulder. This was already the second time in two days.

"You need to stop falling, angel face," Sariel said, helping me up.

"No, you just need to stop creeping up on me."
