The Sky started to dimmer. Dustin and Max were talking in the backseat while the radio of the car was playing. Small raindrops begin to fall. My raw cheeks started to burn from smiling so much. How the heck could i manage to get Steve Harringtons number? The thought would not pass at all. 5 minutes later, we arrive at maxes.
"Stay here dusty, I'm just going to walk max in" I tell him.
"Thank you so much, Amber. I don't know what happened in the cinema but i hope you're okay now." She says trying to ask me what happened.
"It's fine honestly. I have no clue either what happened to be honest. Guess i just got a bit too dizzy or excited for the film that i missed half off" We chuckle.
I walk her up to the porch and attempt to knock but the door swings wide open before i could reach. Billy was stood there in a sweaty vest and shorts. I passed over max, and she budged Billy and waved me goodbye while she went off to her room.
"How was the movie?" He asked his face was sweaty and his hair was wet. He must be using the gym or something at his house but to my Suprise he didn't stink at all, he smelt like mint which is unusual for someone mid-workout.
"It was good, there was lots of people there though. Hundreds of them. We got a hotdog on a stick and just chilled for an hour" I over exaggerate.
"You dropped off max?" He askes
"Yeah, i am going this way anyways. You have her home an hour and a half earlier than her curfew at least don't we" I wink and laugh.
"You really didn't have to. The brat can skate you know. I hope she said thankyou cause she is very ungrateful." he pulls a dirty look.
He looked like he was getting angry and i didn't want to shake his nerves.
"Have a nice last 3 days of summer, Billy." I left.
I started the car and drove off home. Dustin was passed out exhausted in the back, he must have had a busy day. For me it's been the best day ever and i have all the energy in the world. We arrive home and i walk dusty in and leave him flop on the couch. Mum was in her room knitting jumpers for the cats getting ready for the winter. I come in shower and get into some pajamas and stare for ages at the number note until i can fall asleep.
BEEP BEEP *alarm goes off at 8:30*
"Why is it waking me up so early!!" i shout into my pillow.
I feel for where the note is and i start to panic. I rip my whole bed apart taking pillows and sheets flying. I see it scrunched up on the floor side of my bed. PHEW...
I make my bed and go freshen up. I decided to put my hair into a low messy ponytail, Same work clothes as yesterday. Then i realized only 2 More days of working! i scramble to the door to pick up the toast and stuff it down my throat like a pig. 8:50 hit and i run out the door again. Blowing kisses to mum and dusty bun. I still teased him this morning, but he looked hungover even though he wasn't and didn't have the energy today.
The entrance doorbell clinks as i walk into the arcade at 9:00.
"Guess who is on time again! Only 1 more time and I'm done!!" I celebrate.
I jump over the counter and sit on my stool.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Keith looks scared.
"Nothing I'm just having a good couple of days." I beam with happiness.
Keith has never seen me enter that happy into work. I can't blame him for being scared.
My last customer of the day for me walks in, Its Billy!
"Want Maxine home for 8pm?" I teased him. Holy shit! I just teased Billy Hargrove. Oh no, I'm dead!
"No, just came in you know to talk and that's it really" He looks around the arcade. " You don't think I'm going to come in and start playing some Pac-man do you?" We laugh.
" I liked talking to you yesterday, Amber. I've never realized how nice you are and very pretty." He implies.
I am stunned. I'm speechless. What is going on?
"Aw, thank you Billy. I liked talking with you Aswell." I smile.
We talked for an hour even though I went over my working hours. I didn't care i actually liked Billy.
"Bye Billy!" I said as i climbed into my car even more happy as ever.
I empty my pockets to try and dig out Steves number but find both Steves and billys! Well, I've just talked to Billy, so I'll talk to Steve i thought. I dial in the number, and he picks up straight away.
"Hiya, who's this?"
"It's amber, Hi!"
"Oh Amber. Are you okay? Do you want me to come over? Has anything happened?"
I thought to myself for a second. I love how he is very supportive over this and how caring he is.
"Amber?!"
"Hi Steve, Its okay, I'm okay. I'm just checking to see if you're okay actually. And to see if i have the right number" I giggle.
"Oh good, you got me worried then. I'm just at home watching some TV. No Scooping Ice cream today" He laughed pathetically.
"I've just finished and I'm on my way home now. When will i see you again?"
"Whenever you want to see me "
Woah! Do I actually want to hang out with Steve Harrington?
"Hm, well I'm not doing anything Sunday."
"I'll Cya Sunday, message me where you want to be"
I put the phone down and gasp for air. WOAH.
The next day was my last day at work.
It all started off the same.
Billy came in and we talked and just as i was about to leave. BAM
He closed me in against the wall, i stared into his dark engulfing pupils.
He stared into mine.
His lips inching closer to mine.
I stayed in my spot not being desperate nor deniable.
Our lips were a cm away.
Our lips touched and I closed my eyes.
It was my first kiss ever.
I was scared what would happen next, but he just walked me to my car and walked off.
I contemplated everything sat in that car. It felt like decades.
A part of me wanted that kiss but then a part of didn't.
