Pain.
All she could feel is the pain coming from her abdomen and to her head as if something just hit her there. Hard.
Minjoo stirred on her bed as she slowly opened her eyes, only to close them in an instant when blinding lights strikes her pupils. Her hand touching her head as the pain worsened.
"Ouch." she muttered under her breath when she accidentally pressed a certain part of her head.
What the heck happened?
Minjoo, once again, opened her eyes then blinked it a few times, letting her sight adjusts to the light.
The first thing that came to her view was the chandelier hanging in the middle of the room. The ceiling was painted with dark shade of brown with white and gold linings.
Her gaze travelled to the walls. Unlike the ceiling, the color of the walls are creamy, making the room a bit more lively?
Minjoo looked around her, confused from the place she's currently in. Questions are now started building inside her head and it's making her a bit panic.
Bit because if there is something Minjoo have learned to her parents, it's to not panic no matter what the circumstances are. So she's trying her best not to panic despite the fact that she's in a unfamiliar room with an unfamiliar surroundings.
She shifted on the bed and adapted a sitting position. Her eyes are still busy examining the room.
Now that she have noticed it, everything inside the room, from the furniture and the style of the interior, they all screams old fashioned.
The lamps attached on the walls are strange too. And Minjoo can definitely tell it's designed hundred years ago. Because who would use a lamp like that nowadays, right?
Still in her confused state, Minjoo tried to remember what happened before this. Before waking up in this unfamiliar room.
She remember herself bidding her goodbye to Sihye after class. Then she went to a museu─
Her eyes widened.
I did not sleep in the museum, didn't I?
Thinking the possibility of that, and the fact that room designed in a not modern style, Minjoo couldn't help but to panic.
Yeah, she totally forgot about the thing she learned to her parents because... Oh god, she'll face so many consequences! That is for sure.
Minjoo bit her lip in extreme nervousness. She's anxious about the possibility of the things that will happen as soon as she leave the room...
Or not?
The museum didn't have a room like this though.
Minjoo's eyes widened for the second time when she remembered what happened. Her hands covering her lips as she gasped.
She immediately checked herself, if she has bruises or wounds since, well, the car she was in had an accident.
"I'm not yet dead, am I? " she muttered, internally panicking while getting on her feet as she's planning to leave the room.
Though before she could even take a step away from the bed, a clicking sound of the doorknob was heard inside the room making Minjoo halted on her tracks.
The door opened and before she could even react, the lady wearing a black dress with a white rough apron and a delicate white cap, suddenly rushed out after taking a glimpse of her while chanting "Madame, she's awake! The lady is awake! "
Ok? Minjoo didn't know how to react and what to react because first of all, she's still clueless of what's happening and she's still confused of the fact that she's in an unfamiliar room.
It's like she's in another world because even the air feels strange. And the girl from earlier.....
What the hell is happening?
Minjoo walked towards the door but soon get blocked by unfamiliar people. One wearing a whole black and Minjoo couldn't help but to assume he's some sort of a priest because of his outfit and there's a familiar couple, probably on their 40s or 50s?
Minjoo could not tell their exact age but she can tell they are a bit old. Probably the same age as her parents. And the rest at the back have the same outfit from the lady earlier.
"Lady Jiyeon, please go back to your bed. " the priest says with deep voice, hand pointing towards the direction of the bed.
What?
He's not talking to me, right?
Instead of going back to the bed, Minjoo assumed that the priest isn't talking to her even though the man is literally looking at her.
"Hello, father, ma'am and sir. " she bowed to them with a sweet smile. "May I know where's the way out? I need to go home. "
Maybe it's because of the way she talk, the way she smile or it's just what she said but when Minjoo said those words, their expressions immediately changed from relief to concerned.
The woman wearing a formal attire looked at the 'priest' with a worried eyes then to her.
"Jiyeon, what are you saying? Doctor Jeon is not your father! My poor daughter is probably confused now. " the woman spoke with shaky voice.
Huh? Come again?
What father? What daughter?
"Jiyeon, do what you're told. "
This time, it's the intimidating man standing in between the woman and the priest, who spoke. The said man faced the priest.
"And doctor Jeon, I'm trusting you with my daughter so do your job and cure her as soon as possible. "
Okay, now, what the freak is really happening?
Minjoo by now is beyond confused of what's happening. Why are those people here acting as if they know her? And what does the man mean? Doctor? Isn't he a priest? And what do they mean by calling her 'daughter' when they are not her parents!
But lastly, why are they calling her Jiyeon?
Who is Jiyeon?
The only Jiyeon I know is the beautiful Min Jiyeon, Jungwon's wife duhh.
Being too occupied with her thoughts, Minjoo didn't notice she's being dragged inside the room and back to her bed. And before she could even notice it, the man in black injected something in her making Minjoo fall on the soft mattress, unconscious.
