BANG!
I quickly woke up to the sound of something that seemed like a gunshot. Birds flew everywhere.
It had finally sank in to me that I had just left my mom. I left my only family member. My mother had told me that my father died when I was a child. She was all I had. And I just... Left her.
I ran. Ran until my throat burned so much that I felt like I would barf. By then I could see my house. It looked
vacant. Where could my mom be. I started feeling anxious.
I walked in cautiously through the back door. There was nothing but silence. I could feel my own heart beat racing.
I quietly went into the living room.
What I saw was horrible.
My mother laid there..... Dead. She had blood streaming out of her head. I quickly ran to her, tears rushing down my cheeks.
"Mom?" I sobbed.
I shook her body furiously. My face was drenched with my tears.
"Mom?! Don't leave me please!!" I screamed.
I lost her. The love of my life. I lost the only thing I cared about. I should have never left. I should've saved her.
She didn't deserve this. She didn't deserve any of this.
My mind quickly went to the FBI people that were here just a couple of hours ago.
They were the ones that did this. They killed my mother.
Anger built up inside of me. I was furious. I suddenly heard someone pull into the drive way.
I ran to the window and peeked through it. It was a black SUV. I quickly ran to the back door and ran out. I hid in the bushes that were at the side of the house. I saw the man. The FBI man that I had saw a couple of hours ago. It was the guy in black who said he was from the FBI. Anger boiled through my veins.
He had gone to the front door with the woman that was with him this morning. I quickly looked at my watch. It was 1:07 pm.
The man opened the door. I quickly ran into the black SUV that they had left open. I went into the back seat and peeked through the window. After a couple of minutes, the man came out back first. He was struggling to pull out something.
I could finally see what he was carrying.
My mom.
He was dragging her out as if she was some rag doll that meant nothing.
A tear slid down my cheek.
He came closer and closer to the SUV with the body. He was about to open the back door but didn't. He dragged her to the very back of the car and opened the trunk. I heard a slam that was the trunk closing. I quickly sank to the very bottom of the car and lay on the ground. The lady opened the front door and sat in the passengers seat while the man was driving. They couldn't see me. But I could see and hear them. The first couple minutes of the ride was quiet. Then the lady started speaking.
"Kyle, what we are doing is so messed up." She whispered.
"We had too. There was no other choice. She let the boy escape. She let out target escape." He said.
"I don't want to be a part of this, this horrid plan that involves.. Murder. All she was doing was protecting her so-"
"Her son is a criminal!! A horrible criminal that must be killed."
A criminal?! I thought. The worst thing I have ever done was accidentally take Chapstick from a gas station.. When I was 3! How could I be a criminal?! And what is so important that they had to kill my mother?!
Thinking about my mother, I could feel myself hyperventilating. I held my breath and bit my tongue.
I stayed like that for another 10 minutes until the car stopped. I waited for them to get out.
Once they were out I could her the trunk opening. They were taking out my mother's body.
I peaked through the window once I saw that they were gone. We were I front of a hospital. Why were we at a hospital? I snuck out of the car and ran to the door.
I realized that they wouldn't go through the front door with a body.
I walked to the side of the building.
Nothing.
I ran back to the front door. It smelled like latex gloves. I walked to the stairs but realized I had no where to go. I had no idea where they could be. I went to the front desk.
"Do you know a man that goes by Kyle? He walked in here with a black suit" I asked as if nothing was wrong.
"Ah yes! I saw him go to the second floor. He was going to visit room C32."
"Thank you!" I said.
I walked up a flight of stairs until I reached the second door. I walked into the hallway labeled C. I finally found the door labeled C32. Before barging in, I peeked through the rectangular window.
There he was. "Kyle" was talking to the lady that was with him. There were no patients in the room just them. My moms body was gone.
I had made an executive decision with myself: There was no point in getting caught. I had to run. Run like my mother had told me. So like before, I ran out of the building to the black SUV.
