Imani's Pov- Today was finally the day that would either make everything better or everything worse. I got up and got ready in the blink of an eye. My mom was already at work and my baby brother was at daycare, it was just me. It was the weekend and time to tell his parents. I went right out the door and over to Skippers. Since we'd been in school all week and I was so used to getting up and out early, I forgot that it was only 8 am. I knocked on the door "Skipper! Let me in!" after a few knocks he opened the door, pajamas on and the sun shining in his eyes as he squinted them..."Why are you always here you so early?" he laughed, I felt bad "Sorry!! I'm just so used to getting up early for school." I awkwardly laughed. He invited me in as he always did, and he reminded me of what today was "How will we break it to them?" I said in a nervous tone. "We gotta just go out there and say it! My parents aren't real sensitive people like yours." he replied.

The clock was ticking and finally, it was around 10 am the time of breakfast. Skipper and I crept out of his room into the kitchen where his mother was making breakfast, and his step-dad was reading the morning papers. "Good Morning, Mom." Skipper said....she just winked at him and caressed his face with her hand. He smiled at her as his step-dad gave his mother a dirty look. We sat next to each other and he shared his food with me, eggs, and a muffin. We finished and looked at each other, and prepared to share the news that we were dating. "Guys..." Skipper blurted out, "This is my girlfriend, Imani. We are dating." I looked at him and introduced myself "Hello, I'm Imani Williams." His mother gave me a sweet smile and his step-dad went right back to reading the papers. For the first time this morning, his mother spoke, "I'm glad you found yourself a nice young woman." Skipper hugged her. That went way better than we thought. "No matter what, I will always love you." he whispered in my ear and I smiled at him and kissed his cheek.

We went into his room and he started to tell me about his little sister, Tyka. I'd never met her before and he never really talked about her, but he wanted me to get to know his family. She was 12 years old as of now and only 2 years younger than Skipper. It was nice to hear him speak so fondly of her. She went to a different school than us and getting to know her was a fun experience. We sat and talked for a while just getting to know each other a little bit more now that we were official and our families knew about us.
