"My esteemed colleagues, the weight of the evidence leads me to but one conclusion: Over time, some night-side flora and fauna have adjusted to us without our direct influence.

"Whether the changes will in the end benefit humanity is yet to be determined. Yes, it is true some previously inedible, poisonous, plant-like lifeforms now possess curative and nutritional properties. However, it is also true clivia poison, once mild, now possesses properties that mimic day-side fungal infections with alarming neuroinvasive potential.

"Furthermore, several night-side species have become far more cunning in their hunting behavior, in particular where the Trellis's protections against the Devouring Eyes are weak. For now, they cannot digest our flesh, or we theirs. But I cannot say with confidence this will always remain the case, and it fills me with great unease that the creatures appear ever more eager to try."
